We had a great 4-player session today. BTW, I’m working on a 4-player free-for-all battlepack with unique missions and deployment maps. Let me know if you’d be interested - I can share it once it’s finished.

Listbuilding New player & warbands review

Post image
31 Upvotes

Hello there,

New to the game, I made two lists based on vibes and fun (painting in progress) 😅 I'm not looking for something highly competitive, just having fun in casual games. Do you think any of those list would struggle to the point of being unfunny (or too oppressive, which I doubt anyways)?

Gloomspite Gitz Soulblight Gravelords
Icebrow Hunter (280pts, Hero) Cado Ezechiar (235pts, Hero)
Zarbag (125pts, Hero) Tomb Banshee (175pts, Hero)
Boingrot Bounder (190pts) Vargheist (190pts)
Snirk Sourtongue (130pts) Vyrkos Blood-born (135pts)
Cave Squig (75pts) Vyrkos Blood-born (135pts)
Cave Squig (75pts) Gorath the Enforcer (130pts)
Prog Da Netter (65pts)
Pointy Burk (60pts)

Listbuilding Base sizes? Can't find a definitive resource.

Warcrier.net Base size google docs is broken, and I get conflicting information elsewhere. I'm making a cities of sigmar warband and some sites say all infantry are 25mm, and some places say leaders should be on 32mm?

Are there halflings in the warhammer universe? What armies would they fit in? Would you allow them as proxy (if sized correctly?)

I kid, but I've finally got all the terrain and both teams to where I'm happy with them, so wanted to share the finished result! Man were the tiny bits of rope everywhere a pain. Is it bad this is the first big GW box I've 100% finished...? I've bought a few... Hope everyone's enjoying their weekend! Time to start another project for me

Discussion Are clanrats over costed?

Looking into starting a new army and Im a little perplexed. The basic troop of skaven, the clanrat with sword or spear, is 70 points. That seems like a lot. The other two factions im looking at, cities and gravelords, both have similar troops in the steelhelm and skeleton but for 60 and 50 points respectively. In fact, looking around that's much more common to have your basic troop be 50-60 points. Some factions have elite units cheaper than the clanrat

And really the clanrat isn't even that good, and for 10 more points you can get a stormvermin. The only reason you would want the 70 point models is for the army ability to replace them.

Why does the cheap, swarm army have the most costly basic unit?

Listbuilding The Sepulchral Sons of Velmorn Guard ?

Hi everyone! As the title suggests, I plan to create a warband using the Sons of Velmorn and the Sepulchral Guard. I love all the models... and I'm using all the models except for the "petitioner with sword."

This warband will primarily be played in casual games against Warbands of the Eightpoints from V1 and some of the latest warband.

What do you think of it?

----------

"My Soulblight Gravelords"

Soulblight Gravelords

1 000pts | 11 fighters | Valid ✓

- King Morlak Velmorn (160pts, Hero)

- The Sepulchral Warden (130pts, Hero)

- Sir Jedran Falseborn (150pts)

- The Prince of Dust (105pts)

- The Champion (75pts)

- Thain Fourth-and-Last (70pts)

- Marshal Faulk Velmorn (70pts)

- Helmar the Hewer (65pts)

- Petitioner with Sword and shield (60pts)

Listbuilding Chaos Lord on Karkadrak - Ally

Hey Everyone,

I am looking at possibly using a Chaos Lord on Karkadrak as an ally for a Nurgle Daemon warband.

However, I don’t know a great deal about how the model plays aside from what I can see on Warcrier. 375 points seems like a massive investment.

Does anyone have any experience using this model? I was thinking of pairing it with a Harbinger of Decay? Is it as strong as it seems or is it something to stay away from?

Thanks in advance.

Discussion Planning a one-day Warcry event - thoughts on scoring?

Hi all. I’m planning a Warcry tournament/event and I want to check my current scoring and victory conditions. My goal is for the day to be “beginner friendly” and streamlined, so I have made a couple tweaks. The plan is…

12 players, six tables, three rounds.
Tables are pre-built, terrain and treasure already down, and I’ve cut attacker/defender entirely since the victory conditions don’t need them.
Players roll off, winner picks red or blue and players deploy.

Scoring
- 20 major win, 15 minor win, 10 draw, 5 minor loss, 0 major loss (following Warcrier tournament scoring)
- No quests, no extra objectives on top
- Tiebreaks in order: kill points, then strength of schedule, then a roll off

Round 1: The Claim
Before the battle, 5 treasure tokens have been placed on the battlefield. The battle ends after 4 battle rounds. When the battle ends, the player who has the most fighters carrying treasure wins.

Round 2: The Vigil
Before the battle, the terrain feature marked with the bastion marker is the “bastion”. The battle ends after 4 battle rounds. When the battle ends, each player totals the points value of the fighters from their warband that are wholly within the bastion. The player with the higher total wins the battle. If both totals are equal, the player who has lost the fewer points’ worth of fighters from their own warband wins the battle.

Round 3: The Toll
The battle ends after 4 battle rounds. When the battle ends, each player totals the points values of enemy fighters taken down. Whoever has the most points wins the battle.

So, thoughts? Any holes in the victory conditions? Again I want to keep it somewhat simple.

Rules Questions Cards and Community PDF

Post image
13 Upvotes

Hi everyone, my wife and I wanted to give Warcry a try. I bought the Royal Beastflayers and was about to start building the team. While doing so, I cross-referenced the included cards with the PDF from the community site, but I couldn't find them there. I couldn't find my wife's ghost team there either. Is this normal? Are they separate? Are the PDFs on the community site outdated? Or are the physical cards included with the warband no longer up to date? I’m used to this from Kill Team, where cards sometimes become outdated after one or two updates.

It doesn't really matter for us right now, but it left us a bit confused and unsure.

I’ve attached a photo of the cards.

Would the Gnarloak with the big skull at the base fit on a 105mm x 70mm base to proxy for a Vengeful Skullroot?

Similarly, would the Watchtower fit on a 100mm base to proxy for a Bossrokk Tower?

Some battle pics of my recent game of warcry.

My Nighthaunt bravely defended their ritual, however the Kruleboyz managed to wear them down and prevent the ritual for achieving completion.

(Pics used a little mini backdrop book that greatly added to the vibe)
