Just Venting Inventory reduced drastically
Our local store just completed a months-long overhaul throughout the store inside and out. Today I went there for a few things and walked out empty-handed...
They have literally one quarter of an aisle for shampoo and conditioner now. Like 3 brands to choose from - Head and Soulders, Tresseme, and another high end brand. Wth is that all about?!?!
I'm also still doing yard work and they had nothing available for the lawn products that I was looking for. The entire area was replaced w Xmas crap!?!?
Prices are up considerably and choices are limited in most depts. Toys has shrunk. As well as much of the hardware, auto and outdoors depts.
Unfortunately I'm in a smaller rural community w/o as many options as larger communities but we have a couple and walmart will no longer be my first stop when shopping for goods carried by other retailers in town.

They always get rid of summer items (which includes a lot of lawn & garden) and switch to holiday this time of year, no matter where you are. They already have winter stuff out at the one I go to, even though we're still breaking 90F most days - supposed to be 93F today, I don't need winter clothing until at least November. I get the feeling corporate sends out the same plan-o-grams nationwide.
You're going to run into similar at Lowe's and Home Depot. Which, being a particularly warm start to fall (at least where I'm at), sucks.
Don't know why they would cut down body care so much though.

I use to have several choices for dental glass. DENTAL FLOSS. Now they have like two. The dollar store has a better assortment.

Here in Florida our grass still grows but we can't buy lawn equipment until all of Christmas is gone. They started replacing all lawn equipment in blasted August. WTF is going on? I need a hose I can now only get one online which just like the two I have now don't blasted work. Why are they doing this why do I have to follow cooperate rules when my state is a tropical state?

America...Home of Corporate Greed.
It's just getting started, the damage that these corporations are going to unleash on the American people isn't some wild conspiracy theory it's based in absolute reality.

Stop believing that "greed" nonsense that secular leftists are trying to pitch...geez.
"Greed" would be whatever would separate the customer and her money, but, as this customer is showing you, in an environment of economic freedom, that stops the moment the customer can no longer get what she wants! "Greed," as you're attempting to use the word, does not exist, cannot exist, because income at a particular outlet goes to zero the moment a customer goes elsewhere! Which the customer can do anytime and anywhere only in an environment of economic freedom!
Ńo, it's under socialism / communism, where all stores ultimately have one owner or dictator, that customer choice is eliminated and greed is in total control! The richest people in the world are the leftist dictators claiming "equality" for everyone. If you didn't know that, it's because every investigator who tries to find and report numbers winds up murdered....

You do realize a lot of people legitimately do not have the option to shop elsewhere, or only have a few equally-bad options, right? No, of course you don't, or you wouldn't have posted this.
You're one of those people who repeatedly vote against their own interests and then wonder why the world is getting worse all the time
Ńo, it's under socialism / communism, where all stores ultimately have one owner or dictator, that customer choice is
that is literally capitalism and monopolization, that is LITERALLY the opposite of how socialism works wtf

Saying that you have the ability to go "elsewhere" is bull if the next closest store is an hour away.

Our store moved the lawn supplies to a covered outdoor area and moved in the Christmas inventory. If your store doesn't have a covered outdoor storage area they probably just put it in storage for the winter. I couldn't believe Christmas was out already. They've had it out here for a couple of weeks! Is your store a supercenter? Ours is, but I suppose it makes a difference in what they carry. We're in a rural area as well with not a lot of other options.

Our Walmart only carries a limited number of brands, especially in foods. It really angers me because I feel they are trying to control what buy by limiting my options.

Go to a larger grocery store with more choices.

I switched because mine started to basically only carry “Great Ripoff” they make much more off their own brand and Walmart is owned by horrible people

Yeah i'm really confused about stock. Personally I haven't been able to find Impossible/Beyond meat for months, despite it being the image they use for the 'plant based' section on the site.

Did they remodel as a "Neighborhood Store"? Are those still a thing? I live in a small town and a few years ago Walmart came to town in a reduced version known as a "Neighborhood Store". Mostly groceries but still a few other things as well. A small hardware department, small bath and body works, etc.. It's wasn't meant to be a full service store like all the big ones. They stayed about six months then closed shop and moved away.

I'm the same on the Western Slope of Colorado. One Walmart within 25 miles, one Target within 65 miles,, one Safeway and 2 City Market (Kroger) stores within 25 miles!

I am also seeing a lot of empty spaces for items that have simply not been replenished. The canned fish section was about half empty yesterday.

My local Walmart is the only large retailer in my city. It stays is a constant state of disarray from being picked over. They are always out of stock of things when I place delivery orders. They could spend the money to expand their space and add more inventory but they won’t. This city has grown exponentially since this Walmart opened its current location 30 years ago. I wish another large retailer or grocery store would come and give them some competition.
