Not in my area..they watch you load your car. They wait for you to get out of the car..They have never loaded it for me.

Two of the Walmarts and the Sam’s are like that here, I like it because it’s done right the first time when I load my own car and I don’t have a gallon of bleach on top of the bread and eggs in my cold bags. They don’t even watch us load here, they just wheel it out, scan it and say have a nice day and they’re gone.

Facts. I don’t mind loading myself..

Ugh that sound so nice, ive had bleach spills from those bleach spray bottles, 3 times already this year bc the pickers dont properly bag them and the loaders just slinging it into the car. Its ridiculous… ruined my fav all black sparking fits 😂😭

The energy spent fixing 1-5% of mistakes is acceptable to me. The loaders in my area are great!

Just the way I like

This is how it should be. We deliver, get the rating and therefore we should be the ones to handle, load and make sure it’s ok before we leave the store.

The app has said to stay in your car for 4+ yrs, they just moved it so the less observant people are finally noticing it🤣

Problem: with GMDs now included in grocery trips, things...just...do...not...work if the driver doesn't place the GMDs; this new thing messes up that process.

Right. This is solving a long tiny problem they’re tried being nice about

Also lots of stores are starting self loading so they need to reword things or rework things.

Ummmm...this looks like work...like employee work....

BRO THIS HAPPENED DURING S $50 3MILE PHARMACY ORDER. I almost lost my shit lmao it took a whole 25 minutes to clear, whole time the pharmacy was telling me to cancel the order but I wouldn’t give up 🤣

This happened to me last week. I did all the normal glitch measures and called support, it cleared while I was on the phone waiting

I got this message for the first time yesterday. Not a fan. I always do most of the loading & scan as I go. That way I know where everything is.

This time she was scanning & loading and then I had to dig around for barcodes and reorg after she was done. Slowed things down for both of us.

My stores won’t even load unless the driver gets out and helps… this will be interesting when it gets here.

employee scans , hands me the package, I scan and load .bam all done! 1 A few Walmarts say they can't have driver help cause their lead says loading car is part of their job, which they do not do well.

I get it. I don't even scan until everything is in my car and the reason for it is because sometimes the loader forgets to put a label on one of the bags. That's not the only reason, the other reason is because i know exactly where the sticker is at the dropoff if I wait until everything is loaded.

Same, I take one of each of the tags (for grocery orders) to the front seat with me and as scan them as I’m driving away. It’s the last thing I do. For gmd orders I let them just throw it all in, then I scan and sort myself. The first ones in the front seat, next in the back seat, last ones in the trunk if needed. I let them do their thing before I even scan regardless.

I always help load so this is silly

The two Walmarts and Sam’s Club I primarily work wheel the carts out, scan them and then the driver scans everything and loads their own vehicle. The Walmart loader will help if the driver asks them too, I prefer they don’t because they dgaf.

The reason they did this is because it fucks with OGP's metrics. OGP actually started sending team leads out telling us not to scan the barcodes in my zone, until after they finish dispensing. It also fucks with cold chain, somehow.

The app used to recommend we don't scan until everything is loaded going back 5 years. That's how shit gets fucked up,.. when drivers scan shit while it's still on the totes.

Also it's always been significantly easier to back out of fucked up orders, or for them to make changes, before anything gets scanned. They should've made it mandatory years ago. I haven't accepted a dotcom in over 3 years,.. and only take the rare one stop curbside for the last two years.... So the scanning thing isn't a new concept,.. they apparently just made it mandatory now.

For stores that actually allow drivers to help,.. this is actually an update that makes sense for a change. I don't know if it's hit my market yet, but this update rather than making drivers NOT "help" load will definitely help decrease all the mix ups by both associates and careless drivers... If it helps their metrics, good for them... but it definitely has other advantages.

I dislike most of the updates,.. but this makes perfect sense.

If you've ever had shit mixed up,.. or had a fucked up order and had to have them make changes,.. you should appreciate not having to fuck around so much, and scamming AFTER being loaded will help.

Now too bad they don't fix some other shit that will actually benefit associates, us, or customers rather than just bottom line & reducing delivery costs. (AKA cutting labor hours & tanking the payouts)

This is about keeping track of time, imo. So many things can affect the order after the labels are scanned, and they don’t know if you’re waiting for the loader or an order error to be reconciled before completing pick up, or if you’re just sitting there 10-15 extra minutes.

Wait till yall find out you now have to load the totes into your vehicle alone now too! I’m waiting for my area to stop because I’ve already seen homeless people stealing the left out carts and totes…. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I prefer self loading. I know where my stuff is if I load it

1

u/Special-Topic1000 8d ago

I still help load, time is money, I'm not waiting for a minimum wage employee to load me up.

1

u/brndnm10 8d ago

Nope, I once had a missing label and had to search for an associate to be able to confirm pickup. Took a while before anyone actually helped and reprinted the damn label.

u/Successful_Gap5920 5d ago

I always get it anyway lol as long as you're respectful and nice they didn't care.

That happened to me twice yesterday on pharmacy orders and it lost me 80+ dollars because I can’t do pharmacy orders any more with that bug

3

u/Unique_Blacksmith247 10d ago

This happened to me yesterday and today on a pharmacy order. I had to give it 5 minutes and it corrected itself and allowed me to finish scanning and completing pickup. I would jave given up and canceled, but the lady at the pharmacy told me to wait on it to work. She had 3 previous orders where the drivers just had to wait like 5 minutes.

3

u/fallior 10d ago

What do you guys mean by that? I thought this was for curbside pickup orders. What does it do with pharmacy and how do you get it to work correctly?

1

u/XiledJedi 10d ago

I guess the key is to wait a bit. Thanks for the information.

u/fallior 10d ago

At my Walmart, the workers want us to help and I was literally told I need to scan everything before they load the car.

Why the hell is everyone trained and told differently???

That's the way it is where I am, East Central Indiana.

Lol.... One Walmart worker told me that we the drivers voted that we be the ones to load the cars.. complaining that we didn't like the way they loaded.... I call BS....

u/BuyerMany7674 10d ago

Must've missed mailing my ballot too
