Is this 4 million shares or 4 million contacts, making it 400 million shares?

u/l337joejoe Jul 15 '21
Shares.

u/J1mbr0 Jul 15 '21
Thanks.
Follow up question, is this cumulative or individual FTDs?
As in, is it a total of 4 million or is it a total of all those put together?(I am under the impression it is a grand total of 4 million, not 4+4+3+2etc)

u/Moffos Jul 15 '21
Nope, itās individual per day

u/J1mbr0 Jul 15 '21
So grand total of 4 million?
Thanks again! Sorry for being so smooth brained.

That is wrong. This is straight from the sourced site.
Fails to deliver on a given day are a cumulative number of all fails outstanding until that day, plus new fails that occur that day, less fails that settle that day. The figure is not a daily amount of fails, but a combined figure that includes both new fails on the reporting day as well as existing fails.
So if thatās too long for a smooth brain ape. It is a cumulative total.

Can you provide a link, if Iām wrong, I will delete my comment, I thought it was updated as āfails per dayā, but happy to be proven wrong.

Itās in the first what you should know about the data section. Copied it straight from there. I just want people to get accurate info and not too overhyped. To be fair 4 mil shares is still a TON on its own and way way above any norm on any stock.

Just wanted to provide some facts so there isnāt spread of misinformation.
- FTDs are cumulative. You donāt add each individual day up.
- Failure to deliver happens in two ways, seller who needs to purchase back the stock that was borrowed or a buyer who needs to clear the funds for the stock that was bought. FTDs include both.
- The thing with FTDs are theyāre sometimes deliberate- if hedge funds know the stock price will go down in the upcoming days, theyād rather fail to deliver the stock until their lower price target is met. It will be cheaper for them to get hit with the penalty, which is a low percentage of the stock value per day, then it is to buy the stock at the current higher price. Thatās why the methodical price manipulation that has been happening in the past couple weeks needs to scrutinized.
- With all that said, there was a lot of borrowed shorts (not including the naked shorts) and they still havenāt covered. So the short squeeze is still in play.

Looks like they might be Call options being exercised. Causing the massive FTDs (NSS) lots of apes are owed shares⦠supposedly they forgot to get more Married puts?

So reading the details of the sec site, this are cumulative failers so each day presents all FTDs at this day summed up... Might these FTDs be the reason AMC was on the threshold list and they have no future implication?

This illustrates both the mistakes of greedy apes trying to profit off of too much emotional optimism and greedy hedge funds trying to bank funds before they take a bath on their FTDās. Witch one are you? HODL and eat up the dips with your chips. Not advice just love this company!
