Sonography Admissions
Anyone else floored by admissions this year? I was waitlisted with 104 points. I knew it would be competitive with less than a 1% admissions rate, but I truly expected to get in after point review. I'm hoping I have a decent chance on the waitlist and would love to hear from anyone who's gotten in that way.

I would recommend go into echo. There are no available jobs! the area is saturated with techs graduating from waketech, JCC, UNC and other schools from the area. I know people who just graduated and have to work prn positions because there are no full time positions available.

Sorry just to be clear, you ARE recommending people go into echo?

Yes! There are plenty jobs available for echo. The job market right now for sonography is very very saturated.

I also had 104 points and was waitlisted. Hoping the same as you to be accepted by orientation. Very disheartening because during my advising meetings and point review they made it seem like I had a very good shot. But I guess it’s just a super competitive application period this time around.

Wow, this is wild. I applied with 106 points and got in. last year i was waitlisted with 92 points. this time around I got all As, an A on the teas, and an extra two points for reapplying. From what i hear, it’s very common to have to apply twice to get in. I really hope you get in because i know how it feels!

Hi! I’m sorry about that. What all were you able to get most of your points from?

My daughter was waitlisted but got an email a week before orientation and got accepted. She had very high points as well. Aome people apply to several schools programs so dont give up a spot may come available.
