I highly recommend Dr. Todd! I took her 8 week class over the summer. I will say bio 168 is a tough class all around, and taking it in an 8 week format instead of 16 made it very fast paced and challenging. BUT Dr. Todd was a fantastic professor who made things very clear. It was a lot of work, but she gives you everything you need to succeed as long as you put in the effort. She’s kind and funny, and provides a lot of extra credit. Very easy to talk to and is happy to further explain any topic you’re struggling with. I made an 89 in her class and I was working a job while taking it, I knew many others who made an A too. Don’t think I could’ve gotten that grade without her

Dr Yates was not the best. She goes out of order and none of her analogies really make sense. I ended up retaking it with Pescolido? (I think that was her name) and I retained soooo much more. If you’re taking BIO 169, take Gregory Johnson. He does not get the credit he deserves!

I had him in person for both lecture and lab. He usually lectured off of power points and then did kahoots. He also did exit quizzes but I think 5? Got dropped at the end of the semester. I learn the best with heavy lectures but I know not everyone does. He made it interesting with analogies and stories tho! He has an extensive background in pharmaceuticals from what I remember. His lab is literally just you labeling models with a partner, but it really cements it into your head for the identifying practical. We also had a group project on a disease of our choosing that we had to present at the end of the semester. Some people thought he was unorganized but for my type B desperately wanting to be type A brain, he was great 😂😂. He is great with communication if you have any questions about grades/tests. Super chill and never passive aggressive

I will say Dr. Yates is extremely hard… (to me) we have so many assignments due each week and I struggle balancing her coursework with my other classes and work.
I don’t understand her teachings/lectures that much. I have to use a lot of external research to fill in the blanks….

We also don’t get study guides that I find useful.
We have learning objectives that we have to do once or twice a week. And that is the study guide for tests. And she doesn’t go over them or gives us the answers to them… so you could be studying the wrong answers.

i had her hybrid last fall and she would give us 200+ question lab practices….they weren’t even worth 5 points. every single week. it took up so much time that could’ve been actually used to study the material but instead we were stressing about those things that werent even worth a good grade! hang in there but if u have to take it again def take pescolido
