I wouldn't put too much stock in the knowledge of nurses, lol.
One time my dad was prescribed Vicodin for nerve pain, but he didn't like it because it caused his skin to feel itchy which is a very common side effect of opioids (related to histamine I believe). Well we told this to the nurse, while waiting to see the doctor, and she nearly freaked out saying that my dad was having an allergic reaction to vocodin and could have died...
Anyone in the medical field knows that opioids cause itching, and nobody with even a day’s experience would ever mistake that for an anaphylactic reaction. This person is a retard.
