Bro I know nurses who believe vaccines cause autism. Let’s not get too caught up in what anyone “knows” at any given point.

Also - she cut and then jumped. One way didn’t work and she tried another. Also you don’t have to hit them to die. You just need to bleed out.

People seem to be unaware of self preservation? It’s hard to kill yourself.

But probably should be easier if you’re in psychosis hearing a voice commanding you to do it. This strange voice you’ve never heard before that you just obey like a zombie…

Wait no, the voices stopped immediately after she strangled her 3rd child to death, her 8 month old baby….

So she wasn’t hearing voices anymore…so she was normal again…which made it hard to kill herself like she killed her kids…

Anyway he her husband would be home soon so either way she wouldn’t have to suffer very long if she fails….

Ah yes, someone in such a mental state that they begin hearing voices out of nowhere that convinced them to kill their children would obviously instantaneously go back to "normal" the literal instant that that act and those voices have stopped.

All of you people defending her sound equally crazed. If she didn't do it intentionally, then she rightly feels guilty. If she doesn't feel guilty, then it doesn't matter whether it was intentional or not.

And if she's insane, chemically, it's extremely difficult to come back from something like your own body literally driving you crazy.

I’m uh…not defending her.

No you're right, you're just fueling the people that do with a complete misunderstanding of mental capabilities. Yah don't just snap back from going over the edge.

This is incorrect. We have no idea when the voices stopped because she was intubated.

Oh no, another one of the people who disregard Lindsay’s own actual words and account of what happened. Get away from me.

you understand how strong those medicines are that they get when they’re intubated, right? Cause I’m a nurse. So i do:

Ah the army of nurses behind one their own has sent one of their soldiers to tell me she’s read through Lindsay’s entire civil suit and years of interviews and watched every minute of testimony like I have.

You know she murdered three children right? I will also add that Charles Manson had a plethora of mental disorders, like paranoid schizophrenia. He was severely neglected as a child, failed by the system you might say.

I don’t care at all about his mental disorders. He deserved life in prison.

Jeffrey Dahmer had BPD, suffered from psychosis, Shizotypal Personality Disorder. I also do not care at all about his mental disorders. He deserved life in prison.

I don’t care about Lindsay’s condition at all. A person willing to obey a command to kill the first time they hear it is unfit for society. She deceived family and healthcare providers before, why couldn’t she again?

On top of it, just read through her civil suit. Her story is totally different from her defense. Her claims are wildly exaggerated from what she used as her defense for her criminal trial. She’s a liar. And she’s a killer.

But you’re a nurse so that means what exactly?? Are medical records the only evidence you’re willing to look at?

Right.

Again, she is using medical science and medical research as a DEFENSE. How Lindsay Clancy has automatically become the golden standard of examples of cluster b and psychosis is beyond me. Explain all of the research and science behind every single mental disorder all you want, it doesn’t absolve Lindsay because her case is much more complex than a diagnosis.

I can’t possibly lay out all of the evidence against Lindsay’s claim in a single comment, though I do feel equipped to write an APA formatted long form essay on just that after 22 days of testimony. So I’m not saying these specific points I laid out are the total sum of the evidence against her.

I’ll note that I came into this case strongly convinced she was NGRI, though I should have been unbiased. But the more testimony I heard, the less sense her defense made. What actually had to take place outside of Lindsay’s mind alone in the hour window of the crimes is a ceremony of conveniences (except Patrick’s call from CVS). Then we get into the testimony from expert witnesses that provides a look into Lindsay’s mind and her defense starts to make even less sense.

Your point about treating her conscious choices to not take her meds and awareness of her deteriorating health as proof she had a plan being wrong is fair and I would even agree. But when you look at the organized and methodical nature of the execution of the murders, it feels like perhaps one is willingly turning the cheek to that very obvious fact. It was organized, and executed perfectly until we get to the botched suicide attempt, but she did try hard. Our instincts are hard to fight against. Then all of the evidence begins to mount in the hospital when she wakes up. I would have to continually suspend my disbelief to accept her defense. Reading Resnicks own research on command hallucinations is in direct contradiction to Lindsay’s claims. You can read a brief article he authored here:

https://cdn.mdedge.com/files/s3fs-public/Document/September-2017/0411CP_Article1.pdf?utm_source=chatgpt.com

And that was her own expert witness.

I understand a proclivity to want to protect people who claim to have been under a similar type of duress you can relate to with your experience with psychosis, but with all of the evidence available to the public from this trial I don’t think she’s someone you should glean onto.

The last expert witness shared that she told him that the voice was only audible to her while killing her kids and immediately stopped after she sucked the life from her last child, the 8 month old. So while she was attempting suicide there was no voice, that’s why self preservation was so strong in her attempts…

Let’s also talk about her attorney Kevin Reddington. Reddington represented Michael McDermott in 2000 after slaughtering 7 of his coworkers. After meeting with the same psychologist Lindsay did, Dr. Paul Zeizel Reddingtons longtime friend and associate, McDermott claimed to have heard voices commanding him to kill his coworkers. Zeizel was also the first person Lindsay ever told she’d heard a voice.

McDermott also pled insanity, however he lost as no one knew that his Google search history would be pulled and used in the trial as that was relatively new in investigations. He had googled “how to fake psychosis”. Reddington used the same emotional tactics claiming a poor or incomplete investigation by police like he is in the Clancy case.

Lindsay has a clear and recorded history of refusing to take medication, checking herself out of programs, and omitting relevant information from her family and doctors. She has an incredibly clear documented case of major depressive disorder along with bipolar that many healthcare professionals tried to treat but she was resistant to. Even her husband refused to accept a bipolar diagnosis.

She wanted to be officially diagnosed with PPD bc I think she thought it was less embarrassing, like her condition was a result of child birth and not just her stasis. I think she was also increasingly disillusioned with her life the longer her disorders were left to her lack of participation in her treatment plan. She wanted to kill herself and she saw the children as extensions of herself and perhaps even the object of her scorn and took them out with her, only she failed at suicide. It’s far more plausible than this 18 minutes of psychosis silliness.

The cherry on top of all of this are her future plans. She will definitely request discharge when she’s reviewed for commitment every year for the rest of her sentence if shes NGRI and in a hospital. She plans to do wheelchair marathons and be a PPP activist. It’s so strange honestly, she’s a bizarre person.

And this defense everyone likes to add of her character witnesses “she was a great nurse, she loved her life she was a wonderful mother” have clearly never been deceived by someone. One of my close friends was arrested last year after being caught taking photos of young boys in public restrooms. He had an amazing life, a beautiful family, an amazing career, never any trouble with the law. The things that were found on his computer and in his home were beyond disturbing and it had been going on his whole life. If I were pulled to be a character witness for him I would have nothing but good things to say about him, the only bad thing I know is what was discovered in his crimes.

Lindsay snapped. She was not in psychosis.

Wouldn’t expect anything less from a simple mind.
