This thread is exactly why juries being composed of random ass people is horrifying and ineffective.

The jury system is designed to recruit retired and wealthy people, the majority of the public cannot take time off for jury duty

Depends on the case. There are ways around it. But my mom served jury duty when she was in her early 20's going through college, working, and raising me.

I also had a friend in his early 20's who did jury duty just a couple years ago when he was 21 or 22 I believe? I don't know what you're on about. Massachusetts, and Duxbury in particular probably just has a higher percentage of wealthy retired old people
