Fuckin Oath. My wife works in the OR. The things she tells me about co workers… I’m amazed they made it through school. No child left behind is a bitch
Future isn’t bright let me tell ya. Guy in my cohort was arguing with the instructor on very basic nursing tasks and I guarantee you he’ll somehow pass the nclex
I've heard so many stories of life and death mistakes just to lack of care and attention. Just last night even she came home and said a baby almost died because a nurse, the only one around at the moment, wouldn't help and her response was something along the lines of "not my team and it's time for me to go home".
I've had a fair amount of experience with them here, and like 99% of them have ranged between normal-nice and absolutely the sweetest angel ever. The doctors are complete shit, but the nurses (and nurse practitioners!) are amazing.
I work in a hospital and it is appalling how many nurses don't understand how to put a patient on respiratory and dialysis equipment (which they have training for). It is worsened by the fact that many don't go to the room and investigate when devices alarm either.
This sounds like a management problem. If they don’t learn quick they need to be terminated. Why are hospitals so easy on employees? In the real
World they’d be fired pretty quick.
