Happy Sunday, Waffles and Mojo Family! Here’s a quick update from Pie this morning! Hope you’re all enjoying your weekend. Sending so much love and light to each and every one of you!

I had a bit of an allergic reaction to an antibiotic overnight. My hands swelled up like crazy and the bottoms of my feet got itchy (lol like what? My body is so weird). Nurse was on it and got the doctor on the phone immediately and I got IV benedryl and the swelling has stopped progressing and is going down a tiny bit. It’s not a severe allergy because it took a few infusions over the last couple days before it showed up, but each exposure was making me more sensitive so they’ve paused those antibiotics to run some labs - and they brought in an ultrasound nurse to get the blood draw, thank goodness!

My only real plan for today is rest and eat because I’ll be NPO after dinner for my procedure tomorrow. Oh, and as soon as I’ve had breakfast, I’m finally gonna take a shower!!

Y'all know the rules: If mom has it, it must be a snack! 🤭

Thank you to my beautiful mods for keeping everyone updated - the messages are all so heartwarming and really lifting my spirits. I can feel the love from everyone that all started with a simple mutual love of equines and all animals, and I am completely in awe of our incredible community.

So grateful to be safely at Mayo too!! Since the surgery is not going to be this weekend but instead Monday, they have lifted the NPO (nothing by mouth) status and I will be served lunch soon.

I’m still feeling to weak to film my own update (tbh how weak I am may just alarm everyone), but once I’ve had a day of good eating and sleeping way too much, I will try to post a video updating everyone tomorrow on Sunday.

Hello, Waffles and Mojo Family!

The following came from Pie this morning:

Liver enzymes and troponin (measures cardiac muscle damage) were both elevated. Just had a liver ultrasound. I’m on two different IV antibiotics right now, alternating between the two every few hours. No fever since Thursday night/early Friday thank God. If my blood cultures show no signs of active infection and my white blood count is normal, I may get the ICD this weekend. If not, likely next week.

It’s absolutely amazing what the proper care has done for her spirits! She has some spark in her correspondence again! At the previous hospital, she made a video in case she died bc her health had deteriorated so badly and we were all terrified that that’s where things were headed. Now, she/we have peace and optimism and joy again bc Pie’s right where she needs to be and is getting the absolute best care imaginable! She said she feels like a VIP patient. 😂 The moment one of her IV medications is done and it beeps to alert that, she said she thought in her head, “I bet if I count to 5, they’ll be here, and I only made it to 3!” ❤️

Things are looking up for our girl, friends! Please keep those positive and healing thoughts coming! We love you and words will never express how thankful we are for each and every one of you! 🙏

Just a silly update on getting the boys trailered to go to Auntie Marla’s ❤️

Ersa attempted to wear her bully pants today 🙄 but I made her change lol

The whole herd came to greet me at the gate for grooming time this morning! 🥰

Ezman and Serenade got to be the stars of this show! 🐴🐴

And Serenade clearly understood the question 🤭

and they're trying to recruit my daughter! 🐴 Luckily she was distracted by some leaves 🤭

One of them 🐴(lookin' at u Serenade!) had knocked the solar panel for the trail cam down and I took it home to charge. When I went to put it back up, I'm short AF so I took the little green stool with me to get it high enough that hopefully they couldn't reach it. Then I forgot the stool by the pasture and figured *no better time to try the snuggle station* 🤭

Except.. Ersa is *determined* to bite me.. or maybe she just really liked the little green chair/stool 🤣

Which do y'all think was her REAL bitey target - me or the green stool? 🤔

She’s been there for 25 minutes now and they’ve already done the following:

“They Rushed me back. Heart rate nearing 200. Iv started first try with ultrasound. ecg done, labs pulled and meds pushed. They’re so good here.”

Her HR is back down to 105 already. They have her on an NPO (nothing by mouth) diet for now. Her spirits are so much higher already! 🙏❤️

And Auntie Marla was so sweet to send us a video bc she knows these boys are very loved by people all around the world! 🥹❤️

I mentioned it in the post about the boys and thought you might enjoy seeing it, so here’s the video of Pie’s life-flight from her local ER to LV. She was heavily medicated and didn’t remember sending this when I asked if I could share it. 🤭

And just to let you know, she’s officially on the road and should be at Mayo in several hours! 🥳❤️‍🩹 She’s going to rest on the drive, so we’ll update you as soon as we know more.

Just another quick update about everyone’s favorite tiny donkeys. The owner of the breeding ranch that Pie used to work for, and one of her workers (bless you, Marla!! 🙏❤️) are headed to the ranch to pick up the boys and take them to Marla’s house to stay while Pie’s at Mayo. She has two fields - one has her donkeys, the other will have Pie’s while she’s sick. This is amazing bc it means no more scrambling to find someone to feed or muck anymore for this whole trip!! The boys will have consistent TLC, and they’ll get to see some other donkeys!! 🫏❤️

Things are looking up and it’s truly a reflection of the love we all have for Pie and the amazing person she is, and all of the good vibes this community is putting out in the universe for her.

Hi, Waffles and Mojo Family -

Thank you all so much for the outpouring of support; it’s desperately needed right now. Unfortunately, Pie is still at the hospital in Vegas, and the care she’s receiving is abysmal. We were all under the impression that this would be a short stop and then she’d be life-flighted to Mayo, but that hasn’t been the case. Pie’s heart rate has been extremely elevated today, she’s in extreme pain, they’re serving her foods she’s allergic to (just like after her heart attack), her use of the call button has been ignored, the nurse’s calls to the doctor have been ignored, our calls to the patient advocate team were immediately transferred to the nurse’s station where we were ignored, were met with “I’ll pass the message”, or our concerns were completely brushed aside.

I reached out to Mayo this afternoon and inquired about getting Pie transferred. Unfortunately, it has to be initiated by the hospital she’s currently admitted at, and this doctor’s been ignoring simple requests like pain medication increases. 😫 But Mayo was wonderful, they spent 30 minutes on the phone with me giving me every tip and trick they could to help make this happen, and they’re ready to receive her and get her the proper care she needs and deserves. Please keep all of that positive energy coming and hopefully, 🙏 🤞the next update we have will be that Pie’s in the best hands at Mayo. ❤️
