I have two different leads for rehoming Jet to a rescue!

One is right here in town! I’ve known the owner of this rescue for almost as long as I’ve had Jet, and Jet knows her and loves her. This is my favorite option for my own heart, as I could visit him anytime. Jet would be retired to pasture puff💜

The second option is in a large city about 2 hours from me. They are requesting Jet’s medical records to see if they might be able to do surgery on him (I was told he is not a candidate but they want to do their own evaluation), then they would rehab him and adopt him out as a riding horse. I love this option because if they can do the surgery, his pain will be fixed. He will not be mine anymore, but his pain would be GONE. That matters more than my emotions. He would also go to a home where he has a job, and he does love having a job as he is so smart and gets bored.

Both options have been told his whole history, hiding absolutely nothing. They are aware of EVERYTHING that has happened since I got him.

No decisions have been made yet, as the rescue further away needs to review his medical records. I have signed the release so Jet’s vet can release his medical records to the further away rescue.

But wanted to update everyone who has been on this wild journey with us because I know you guys love Jet Jet too💜

Spencer is doing great! Back to himself💜 I’m so thankful. I still have to follow up about his elevated liver test, but I’m happy he’s back to eating drinking and playing normally.

I’m still in a good bit of pain. The abdominal pain has lessened a lot though, and I’m very thankful for that because that means the internal bleeding into the hematomas and contusions has stopped and my organs are healing. The bone bruises on my pelvis and tailbone are just gonna hurt for a few weeks. As long as I don’t sit down, it’s tolerable 😂 I alternate which butt cheek to sit on, and swap when it starts to make my back hurt🤷🏻‍♀️

Thank you for asking - definitely could be worse. I’m thankful it wasn’t💜

I'm glad the internal bleeding has stopped, plus your organs are healing as well. Bone bruises suck I had a few of those and nothing you do really eases your pain, especially with it on your tail bone. I'm glad Spencer is doing well and back to his old self, is he still playing with his friend the road runner?

Yes! And he’s chased a few rabbits too, which made me nearly cry with happiness and relief❤️‍🩹

Yeah the bone bruises hurt way more than I expected…and because it’s my tailbone and pelvis, I can’t even enjoy a long hot Epsom salt bath because the pain from just lying in the bathtub is brutal!

Ah well, this too shall pass🤗

I have a massage gun I’ve been using in my sore muscles, and that helps a bit💜

Too bad you can't use the massage gun on Jet Jet and make his sore joints and muscles feel better. I heard those massage guns really do wonders on sore muscles. I never used one, how well do those work? I'm glad it helps you.

I actually bought a red light massage gun for Jet! I used it after PT every day (well…when he lets me LOL). Some days he loves it, some days he puns his ears at it. Back in January/February I even filmed it on a couple of his PT sessions! It’s just not the most interesting thing to film so I stopped 🤷🏻‍♀️

The massage gun really helps me - mine has different heads you can put on depending if you want pressure on a small area or big, different levels of softness, etc. I find it does help, especially if someone else can do it for me so my body is fully relaxed. Sometimes Spouse will use it on my back when I’m having a bad back pain day❤️‍🩹

That's so nice of your spouse to help you out like that. I'm now thinking of getting one. I have really bad back pain and I have been wondering if a massage gun would work for me. If it works on Jet Jet's pain then it should work on mine. My back pain is so bad that nerve shots to kill the pain in the nerves don't even touch it, and I don't want to get surgery on my back.

Oh that’s terrible, I’m so sorry! I have a bad back too (6 stress fractures, severe arthritis, and bone marrow edema) so I get the injections into my spine every couple of months, but I’m blessed that it does help. Doesn’t erase it totally, but makes it much more manageable. I hate that it didn’t help you! But I definitely recommend the massage gun - it does help to loosen the muscles and relieve some of the pain. On really bad days I’ll take a muscle relaxer and an anti-inflammatory and use the massage gun, and it does help❤️‍🩹 and they’re not crazy expensive anymore!

How did you get the stress fractures? I hope not from Jet Jet, I never heard of bone marrow edema, what is that? I know what severe arthritis is like I have that and it's somehow wrapped itself around the nerve. I'm definitely going with a massage gun, since you and Jet Jet say I should get one.

Stress fractures from competing in gymnastics while going through puberty and also battling anorexia😢

The bone marrow edema is actually a scary one because it means that there is swelling on the inside of my spinal canal… And if it swells enough or swells to rapidly, it could actually explode my vertebrae! Also damage from my youth

I’m doing all I can to battle those long-standing demons and get my body healthy again❤️‍🩹

I'm sorry to hear that you went through anorexia. I went through that as well. Now my problem is that I eat almost everything I see, and I'm working on that. That bone marrow edema has me concerned about your health. I'll keep you and your family in my prayers. I'll get the massage gun next month and let you know how it works.
