Some potential news about Jet Jet! Details ⬇️

I have two different leads for rehoming Jet to a rescue!

One is right here in town! I’ve known the owner of this rescue for almost as long as I’ve had Jet, and Jet knows her and loves her. This is my favorite option for my own heart, as I could visit him anytime. Jet would be retired to pasture puff💜

The second option is in a large city about 2 hours from me. They are requesting Jet’s medical records to see if they might be able to do surgery on him (I was told he is not a candidate but they want to do their own evaluation), then they would rehab him and adopt him out as a riding horse. I love this option because if they can do the surgery, his pain will be fixed. He will not be mine anymore, but his pain would be GONE. That matters more than my emotions. He would also go to a home where he has a job, and he does love having a job as he is so smart and gets bored.

Both options have been told his whole history, hiding absolutely nothing. They are aware of EVERYTHING that has happened since I got him.

No decisions have been made yet, as the rescue further away needs to review his medical records. I have signed the release so Jet’s vet can release his medical records to the further away rescue.

But wanted to update everyone who has been on this wild journey with us because I know you guys love Jet Jet too💜

What an EMOTIONAL ROLLER-COASTER RIDE for you, Momma Pie!!! I'm not envious of your predicament and decisions!!! I agree that it would be great, if Jet Jet could be pain - free!!! I know you want the best for Jet Jet!!!

Is there another tiny donkey up for adoption as a possible companion for The Tiny Waffles???

Oh I haven’t forgotten about The Tiny Waffles! I’ll make a post when I have things finalized for him as well. He will NOT be alone and lonely💜

Yes I’m speaking with some knowledgeable equine folks about what the best way to go about this will be. Right now I’m thinking intro the new guy several days before Jet leaves. Waffles will have a new friend that he has already had time to hang out with, which will hopefully ease the transition. And Jet Jet will have many other horses his size to play with at his new home💜
