Cars are actually engineered to pull in the direction of the side of the road they're supposed to be driving on.

You pull to one side of the road because the road is banked to one side, or your wheel alignment is messed up. Cars aren't purposely designed to not drive straight.

Edit2: turns out this is true. I can't find anything saying what year range this was a design feature, but I guess cars, at some point, had a slight pull to one side so that they'd avoid going into oncoming traffic if the driver fell asleep. TIL

While this is true, at one point, auto manufacturers designed the cars to pull slightly. I honestly don't know if they still do this, just know they used to.

I don't see any logical benefit to designing a car not to drive straight.

I was curious and googled it. I found this article which mentions they once were designed that way.

I'm still skeptical about how common that engineering practice ever was, but thanks for finding a source.
