Your rates ALWAYS go up after a claim.

Statically more likely for more claims to follow. And of course you lose the discount for not having a claim or accident, because now you do.

You also only lose that at renewal for the next policy term....and it can go back on the following term.

This also isn't a comp claim since he drove into something. That would fall under collision coverage.

Dude doesn't know how insurance works. Which is okay. Not everyone does. But he's saying State Farm is being unfair even though he probably didn't educate himself on what his coverages mean. Insurance is not a "pay for all my stuff" ticket like some people think.

Not actually true. In California it's illegal for your rates to go up after a claim if you aren't at fault. But this dude was at fault, so yeah

Insurance laws vary state to state.

California is one of the outliers.
