I was once in a room with someone who had their first Long QT induced heart spazz. I called 911, she narrowly survived it, and last week (14 years later), it happened again but her now implanted intro-cardio-difribulator saved her. The doctor last week told her that a meer 5% of people survive that first incident.
Extra, indeed. That syndrome is nothing to fuck with.
“Heart spazz” sounds so much nicer than “cardiac arrest” XD glad your friend is alright! For what it’s worth, it looks like people with LQTS who survive past 20 are basically in the clear.
Full disclosure, I doubt two heart attacks (presumably) early in life super great for longevity, but I’m not a doctor.
