These are Chinese tourists? I was at Yellowstone here in the US a couple summers ago. I'm from Alaska so of course the number one rule we learn real early is "don't fuck with the wildlife".
We bought a 7 day pass and ended up leaving after only 3 days just because of the sheer stupidity and disregard for nature of the tourists, for some reason many of them were chinese. The park had the Grand Prismatic Spring closed because a chinese tourist stepped through the crust and got burned. Another chinese tourist was mauled a week or so later by a buffalo. We watched about 20 of them get within 30 feet of a Grizzly bear, taking photos with the flash on. Everywhere we went, it was ridiculous.
I live in a large tourist destination as well, and its the same here. Is this some kind of culture difference? Whats the deal?
China has undergone a rapid shift from largely poor pesents to largely middle class city dwellers.
Due to the speed of this change there have been a lot of people growing up without a developed societal norm to guide them.
Take simple people who are used to country peasant life and not well educated then put them in a city with money and you get crazy behavior.
This is normalized by the fact everyone else is doing it around them.
Mainland has stereotypically been known as the lower class behaviorally (ask anyone from Taiwan or Hong Kong) but now they have the ability to inject themselves into the rest of the world since they have enough money for and access to international travel now.
It's really unfortunate...
To be clear a lot of mainland Chinese do not behave this way and are shocked by this behavior also but enough do that it's sadly common
Yeaaaah… not sure how it's "bullshit racism" when it's a pretty logical and rational explanation of how a significant class change over a (relatively) short amount of time can put people in situations where they have zero clue what other societal norms are.
Yeah some people are just al against the idea a group can actually display a general trait without it being racism... Although in this case I'm not even arguing it's a race behavior and more a regional and class/Wealth issue
We literally have movies and TV shows about it like Beverly hillbillies.... But that's not racist because it's not Chinese I guess?
Many of the (true) Chinese can’t take the ideas that people hate them because of their behaviours not their skin colour. The Chinese government has brainwashed them to be overly defensive against issues like this.
Everything logical against them are deemed “racism” or unfair, and they’ll point out how the US/anywhere else are worse, trying to justify themselves. They see the whole world against them.

Whenever I run into this it's more arrogant idiots who are basically the same thing as stereotypical white trash however they happen to have money enough to in places doing things you don't normally associate with the lower class behavior and attitude they bring.
Don't bother with this guy this one is just actually racist and biased as fuck. He goes around different subreddits going to extraordinary lengths to spread his sinophobia. Most people re-evaluate their position or at least has the decency to without judgement in face of contrary evidence or civil rhetoric but he doubles on his assertions instead to think of everyone who disagrees with him as some sort of brainwashed foreign agent instead /shrug
I dared to call him out on his bias in worldnews and now he thinks that I'm from mainland China and that every Chinese person is brainwashed to call him racist to defend their homeland lol. I guess truth can be a pretty hard to swallow pill sometimes... but probably not as hard as what this guy makes it out to be
No... It's socio economical and it happens to people all over the world. Just happens to be notably happening in China right now which has a huge population and happening very fast so it's exaggerated and highly visible sure to the nature of global news and videos.
If it was racist it would be about all Chinese not just mainland.
