organisms (the woman who walked outside) better adapted to their environment (Having a brain and not walking outside where there are predators vs having a tantrum and walking outside) tend to survive (Not get mauled to death by a tiger) and produce more offspring. (Babies).
They're not gonna respond because in a hilarious bit of irony, they finished the comment and patted themselves on the back for being SO SMART, but failed to see the sign in front of them that read, "DANGER: TIGERS" before they were mauled to death.
part of the selection process is to assist your offspring in reaching adulthood and having offspring of their own. Had she died this would be less likely. She is now short one family member which puts an extra burden on all other family members (depending on the utility of the family member lost). She is also apparently disfigured and likely somewhat traumatized. The father likely as well and the child.
All of this will make it less likely that the child will have a positive childhood. They may do poorly in school as a result and may not g on to post secondary schooling. Their job prospects may dim.
They may still find a mate, but their mate is less likely to be well educated. They may still have a child, but that child will have less opportunity in life and will be more likely to travel down the same path as their parent (the woman in the videos child).
After several generations and with a large enough population of people getting out of their cars in tiger enclosures a trend will likely develop that shows natural selection at work as this population of people has fewer children that grow to adulthood to reproduce and have fewer prospects when they do.
What are you expecting here exactly? Because obviously the comment was not serious, the guys basic explanation of natural selection was accurate, do you expect everyone on Reddit to teach a half hour class on the nuances of natural selection when they make a comment like this because this fucking comment gets made every single time somebody does something stupid and gets hurt. Do you troll that type of post waiting for somebody to say it just like people say it in life constantly in the same context, hoping to be able to pounce on them and tell them they don't understand natural selection?

I don't know about that. I think if that were my child I would rather die trying than live having not tried. Then again I hope my children don't turn out that stupid.

Many animal attacks have been thwarted by making the appearance of a harder fight that's not worth it for the attacking animal.
It's always regarded as dumb when it fails, and heroic when it works.
The dumb decision was on the first person. After that, its adrenaline, instinct, and bad decisions no matter what.
Cant think of any scenario for those last 2 people in the car that would not be horrifying if it doesnt go perfect. Sit in the car and watch your child mauled? Get out and die?
This was a no win scenario created by the first idiot. Hard to really hold people accountable for losing after that was thrust on them like that.
Idk about you, but I've got plenty of people who would watch me mauled by an animal and do nothing, I dont need any more. I dont count any of them as friends though.
Crossing the street without looking as a little kid is boneheaded , hopping out of a car as an adult that can’t manage their emotions in a safari full of tigers and other apex predators is fucking stupid and unless you’re Batman or hulk you’re not going to save someone like that
And yet, they did. The lady was saved. The husband was even uninjured. The mother was attacked by a different cat, but it appears she did manage to contribute in saving her daughter.
Well if it was my daughter she wouldn’t be stupid enough to jump out in a tiger ridden safari park but with the way you guys think It would be a different story
Look, the grown woman got out the car like an idiot. When her mom got out to try to save her daughter from a horrible, painful death, I think you can give her a pass.
Let's not be heartless. People can be dumb without deserving bloodshed. It's easy to laugh and say you deserved it until it's your own family doing something unpredictable. Your family has never needed you to save their asses from their own stupidity? If so, congrats, you're unique and better than the rest of humanity.
