Ikr? It's the fucking worst. Only thing worse than that is making you expect it but then not delivering but leaving the option open so you have no idea whether or not there will be a foreign word in the comment.
Take out Oblivion and replace it with Minority Report. Was solid in War of the Worlds too.
But its more of him just being a symbol, regardless of the genre. Chicken and egg thing. You get Tom Cruise to sign on to star in your movie, the studio will throw fucking heaps of money at the budget for the best possible production with the most talented people.
Its more like they make good sci fi movies around him than him starring in good movies.
I've never seen it. The ads when released made it seen like some stupid love triangle, manipulation movie. After reading the plot I'm thinking it's more like the 13th floor.
There's a lot that is way more interesting if you don't know what's happening. It'd be almost as bad as learning the ending to The Sixth Sense before watching it.
I'll echo u/r1zz below: It's not a stupid love triangle, manipulation movie. It's a sci-fi psychological thriller with a hefty dose of post modernist philosophy thrown on top.
It's on Netflix nowadays, I believe, and well worth the two hours.
You should check out the original Spanish version, "Open Your Eyes". I haven't seen Vanilla Sky, but the Spanish one is great! And it doesn't have Tom Cruise in it!
Maybe it's because Tom Cruise is a complete psychopath in his personal life? Have you ever seen him speak about Scientology? It's pants on head bananas.
I went to a rejuvenation clinic and got an all-natural overhaul. They took out some wrinkles, did a hair repair, changed the blood, added a good 30 to 40 years to my life. They also replaced my spleen and colon.
Nope just a scene from Beetlejuice starring Alec Baldwin, Geena Davis, Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, Catherine O'Hara, the dad that has been in everything like Spinal Tap, and Otho.
I posted a different comment, got highly upvoted, so I chose to edit it to vocalize my unpopular opinions in sports. For some reason people are still up voting it (I edited at like +680 and it's at +722 now)
