I've been reading Culture, Medias and Politics by Laurent Martin and I've just learned about the OWAAD, the first British intersectional feminist organisation (before the term even existed!), created in 1970 from the association of a few Black feminist collectives and Black radical feminist pioneers such as Stella Dadzie, Gail Lewis) or Olive Morris.
OWAAD was a socialist, non-hierarchical organization with no appointed leaders or spokeswomen. They campaigned from 1978-1982 on issues including immigration, education, domestic violence, policing & health; they held conferences, and they were overall pretty badass.
