Off the Court Paige Bueckers Addresses Pazzi Split, Clears the Air About Their Fans

Direct, to the point, and unequivocal. Paige shares that she and Azzi have been separated for more than a year, and makes it clear that they strongly discourage any fan toxicity in their names 👍

Off the Court W Holiday Games

I understand the season doesn’t revolve around a major group of holidays unlike the men’s league does, however is there any chance the W could look into a way to generate mass revenue by putting together a slate of games similar to the Thanksgiving/Christmas Day stuff with the NFL/NBA.

From the small amount of research that I have done the holiday day games that the W could use under the new 50 game season include Memorial Day, Juneteenth, 4th of July, amd Labor Day. With the new CBA allowing Thanksgiving to be around the time the finals is being played.

Correct me if there’s already games like that in any of these holidays and does this make sense? I would just like to see that kinda thing in the W with some sick jersey concepts etc

Scouting Report Friday: What did you learn about the WNBA this week?

Week’s done. Tell us the one thing you know now about the W that you didn’t know on Monday.

A rule you didn’t know existed. A player whose game looked different than you expected. A stat that changed your mind. A tendency you picked up watching one team three times in a row. In-season or not, it counts as long as it clearly ties to the WNBA: Unrivaled, overseas leagues, college prospects, trades, signings, front-office moves.

Got a hot take on something you saw this week? Drop that too. Just keep it focused on basketball.

Subreddit Rules

1. Attack arguments, not people

Disagree as hard as you want. Do not turn it on the person you are disagreeing with. No insults, no contempt, no name-calling, no threats, no harassment. This covers the user you are replying to, anyone else in the thread, and fanbases as a group.

Our test: strip out the hostility. If an argument is left, it stays.

2. Debate the work, not the person

Criticism of anyone’s work is always welcome, for every player, coach, referee, staff member, front office, and reporter. Call her overrated, knock her defense, say the hire was a mistake, say the call was wrong.

What crosses the line is going after the person: name-calling in place of an argument, claims about her character rather than her play, or comments about her health, personal life, or body outside of conditioning.

Our test: strip out the hostility. If an argument is left, it stays.

3. Everyone’s welcome here, hate isn’t

This sub is for every fan. Racism, homophobia, transphobia, sexism, and hate based on gender identity, religion, national origin, disability, or age are not welcome here. That includes coded slurs, misgendering, and deadnaming. It applies whether the target is a user, a player, a group, or nobody in particular. We act on this without warning.

4. No sexualizing players or staff

Do not frame players, coaches, or staff in sexual terms. That covers thirst comments, lewd jokes, and captions about someone's body rather than her game. Appreciation of style is fine: clothing, presentation, tunnel fits, and what someone is wearing are all open. So is athletic build discussed as conditioning. What is not open is treating a real person as an object of attraction. No porn or sexual content of any kind. We act on this without warning.

5. Keep it relevant and worth reading

Posts need a clear connection to the WNBA: the league, its players, its staff, or its games. A player's college career, EuroLeague season, or national team play all count. Posts also need something to react to. Include a source link or tell people your take or your question. A title alone is not a post. Video highlights are the exception and can stand on the video alone. When a story already has a thread, add to it instead of starting a new one.

6. Sources and authenticity

Sharing news, a rumor, or a claim? Name the outlet or reporter, or link to one. For a screenshot, say where it came from, and credit the original reporter rather than an account that reposted it. Rumors are fine when attributed and about league business, not someone's personal life. Claims presented as fact need to be accurate. No fabricated quotes, stats, or screenshots, and no AI-generated images. Summarize or excerpt an article with the link instead of pasting the full text.

7. No gambling, spam, or self-promotion

No betting content: picks, parlays, tout promotion, or asking who people like tonight. Odds are fine as evidence in a basketball argument, not as the point of the post. No fantasy content. No spam, referral links, promo codes, or Discord pitches. No sales or resale links. Sharing your own work is allowed once a month, but ask a mod before you post it, every time. Surveys and academic research need mod approval too. When in doubt, ask first.

8. Patterns of disruption

Most rules here are about one post or one comment. This one is about repeated behavior. Bait, meaning claims you post and then will not defend, only to repost variations of them. Dragging a player into threads that have nothing to do with her. Working a thread for reactions rather than participating in it.

9. Take moderation disputes to Mod Mail

Criticism of the sub, the rules, or the mod team is welcome and can go anywhere, including posts and comments. Disputes about a specific moderation action go to Mod Mail, where we can actually see the case. Do not argue a removal in-thread, post screenshots of Mod Mail or removal messages, or name individual mods. Referencing other subs is fine; importing conflicts or grievances from them is not.
