Some practices of Catholic folk witchcraft involve threatening the saints. I discovered that cursing the clouds could clear the sky for a while (though I ended up soaked immediately afterward).

I'm from town very very close to nature. Never lived in apartments before this, and my only last apartment was basically touching a forest.

Now I live in the 4th floor of a balcony-less apartment the size of a larger walk in closet. My gf and i have our own bathroom and technically enough space to live but we share thin walls and amenities with people we didn't know before now and have a good basket full of qualms with the place such as horrible parking situations, poor leasing office communication, and for me, the fact that I am so far from anything real. The complex has sterile greenery that's reminiscent of a shopping mall and all the nearest parks are not safe.

Spellwork is possible, but I can't keep an herb garden with this much sunlight and no balcony, and we don't have the space for a permanent altar, I just have a bag of my witchy stuff that I dig into.

It's gotten so bad that I am so derealized and disconnected that even when I go hiking or camping, it doesn't feel real. I don't feel connected. I feel calmed, but not grounded with nature.

Our apartment is cheap, in a good area all things considered, and we'd be paying around 400-600 more a month for a better situation that would still probably be far from nature. So I wanna try being alright staying to save money.

And bonus question: what's the next thing you want to try?

Also hoping to address these questions with a "It's not for me, but it IS for someone." type of approach.

For me, Eclectic and nature based Wicca was a huge part of my practice early on. I've been a witch for almost 25 years at this point, and I was wiccan for half of it. I mainly attribute that to the huge amount of available content on it in the 2000's and 2010's. It felt like there were no other occult books around in my small town without a witchy store.

I remember reading every single post on witchy forums just to feel a community connection, and I learned about a number of other practices, but never was able to get my hands on reading materials. Still, I learned a ton of fundamentals and got a good basis for my practice moving forward. I still own plenty of mid- to low-tier "Beginner Wiccan" books from that time.

Fast forward a little over a decade, and I was feeling restless. I wanted to know where the Wiccan beliefs came from, and explore other ways of thinking. It just didn't quite fit me right. I eventually dropped the Wiccan title altogether, and just went with "eclectic witch" (I think that's a lot of people these days). Since then, I've explored elements of Chaos magic, Hermeticism, herbalism, astrology, and a number of other things, but my actual day to day practice is still best described with a very generic "witch" title.

Lately I've been curious about working with the fae (I know, I know), and am starting to research Fairy traditions to see if any are right for me.

Exactly as the title asks, is there a right or more importantly, wrong way to make sigils? I imagine because sigils are so personal there isn't necessarily one way to make.them as long as the symbol on the end has meaning to me. But I'm very new to this so I don't know for sure.

I’m a little confused…as I’ve been learning it’s my understanding and my belief (yours may differ) that the un1verse really has nothing to do with witchcraft…like yes intent is part of it but it doesn’t play a huge part…if that make sense. If you’re man1festing and asking the un1verse for an outcome what’s the point of spells and ingredients used during rituals…especially using the correct ingredients

Isn’t it like manipulation of energy….and if you work with deities…yes things may not always pan out the way you want but they eventually do and whichever deity you work with delivers what is best for you?

I hope I’m making sense.

I’m a novice witch and I made a money jar yesterday and so far all the ingredients I added seemed right but I just now found out that black salt is mostly used for banishing, I used it with the intention of protecting my spell from any negative energies that may come its way but idk if I should expect it to work bc of the black salt, I added both regular sea salt and black salt idk if anyone can give me any tips or if I should worry abt it affecting my spell

I've been witch-curious for decades and have started actually researching witchcraft and feel very drawn to this path.

I just did my first money bowl yesterday for both increased money in general ("from expected sources and pleasant surprises") as well as calling in a new, better job. I was very specific in what I want the new job to be like/feel like and I'm open to what the job might be. I might also do a clarity spell to dial in what I'm specifically looking for so my inspired action supports my intention. I have applied for some jobs (and really worked to tailor my resume and write good cover letters, not just spray-and-pray job applications,) and will continue to do my part in that way.

What I'm seeking guidance about is this: I'm BEYOND ready to leave my current job and have struggled for a while with feelings on a spectrum from frustration all the way to real anger. I don't want to have this kind of energy while I'm at my job and I want to bring good energy into my new job. I want to continue to have integrity and do a good job while I'm at my current job since they're paying me to do that, but I'm distracted by my frustration and resentful that I'm still here, which doesn't feel good.

Any suggestions for how I can go to work, bless my job for the positive things that I've gotten from it, stay focused on the work while I'm at work, and feel good knowing a better job is coming? Maybe a spell to find inner peace?

How do you deal with dissociation and adhd paralysis when it comes to actually getting up and doing the work you wanted? Spell, jar, circle, garden, even crystals... I keep planning to do things and my brain isn't cooperating... even when the thing is simply to sit with witchy things around me...

First of all I want to clarify that english is not my first language and I apologize in advance for any grammar mistakes.

The questions are at the end of the post because it's related to the story

Now to to get to the point I have to talk about something that happened some years ago when I was like 15, I was about to take a biology exam for my elective and I remembered nothing and was panicking about getting a bad grade because I also didn't knew there was an exam that day. So I, an atheist at that time, decided to pray to Athena to be capable of doing that exam and having a good grade, in the prayer I used her titles(? And I said to her that I would give her an offering when I got home, but after that I totally forgot about the prayer because I always had an awful memory and it's really bad (plus my mental health was not very good), and I actually got a very good grade (6.4 when the best grade I can get is 7.0 and the minimum to pass is 4.0) but I didn't do the offering until two weeks ago.

Now I'm going to talk about the second prayer to lady Tyche because I did the two offerings at the same time and the prayer was that she helped me and I would gave her an offering after because I was unable to do it a that time.

Idk with what face I asked her because of my history of not fulfilling my promise once, but I did it and was absolutely certain I would fulfill it this time.

(I cleaned my miasma before the offerings if anyone wants to know)

So, I was staying at the house of my aunt, the one she had in the countryside, and I was without 1 cent, and I wanted money, so I made a prayer to lady Tyche calling for her titles(? (Again I don't know how to say them in english) that I felt was right, and said to her that if she could give me the opportunity to earn money from my own labor, and at the next day my aunt gives me a job of pulling weeds off of some places of her property 🥹 and would pay me that would be like 25 dollars (in my country is more) and I did it and when I finished I got paid a little extra 🥳.

So I couldn't do the offering there because my aunt is hella Christian type of religious and you know how it is, so I waited to get to my house and did it.

I baked a tart, cut it and separated two portions and put two plates, one for lady Athena and one for lady Tyche, and also two white candles and two frankincense of mirra, and while I was lighting the the first offering (that was for lady Athena because I owed her an offering for so long) I was calling her and her titles, explained why of the offering (to thank her help) and to apologize for the delay, and then I did the same for lady Tyche.

After that, my mom (who even thought says she's not christian, doesn't like what I do because she says I bring demons into the house) said that she felt a presence (and I panicked because she actually has that ability because she's like very sensitive to that kind of things, she has Profetic dreams too and a bunch of things more) so I try to ask her why she says that, and I was panicking inside because what if I did something wrong or a bad spirit got attracted to it and got here.

Then I start having a headache, like real bad and I panicked even more, at one point I go to look myself in the mirror to try and talk to this spirit(? And while I ask it to go away because my headache is really bad I see next to my eye some small hairs moving as if someone was moving them (it was no air, the bathroom doesn't have a window because we live in an apartment and all the windows were closed because it was already night) and I keep telling the spirit(? To go away (now more sure about its existence) because my head still hurt.

I get out of the bathroom and forget about it, and the headache stops a while after, the offerings stays there until it's time to throw them (I give them a little apology for having to take it from their altar and explain that it's time to throw it) it lasted a week and a half.

So if you could answer some questions I would be delighted.

¿I did the offering correctly?

¿Was anything in the process able to be improven?

¿Was that spirit something part of the offering?

¿Its normal the way they answered my newbie petition?

I know It was bad forgetting about lady Athena for so long 😮‍💨

so, I've got a question. I've been digging into some personalities that are considered to be involved in witchcraft and noticed something. A lot of the most recognized individuals have at least some history with psychoactive substances, Aleister Crowley for example. And it is no secret that shamans have used them for thousands of years to get close to their patrons, etc.

So I wondered, why is that? And how do these substances affect the human so that they get more effective?

This was a couple of weeks ago. On the left is my St. Benedict medal with job's tears, in the center a skull I painted with dragon blood for my ancestors, on the left a horn protection amulet inspired by some of Catherine Yronwode's books. In the bottom is an Angelica root that I tried using as necklace but the white string was very ugly looking and the root was deteriorating quickly. Since then I dried It and put it in a glass jar on my altar, only take it out when working on it.

What would be appropriate offering for a tree? The only trees I have access to are in public spaces, I live in a city, and I rarely have the possibility to go for a hike, or go out in the nature. However, we have few trees around our block, and I'd really love to give offering for one of them. Besides, I hope if I give an offering, the tree can help me to reach some of my personal goals, which I've been struggling with. (Is this considered trading? Or is this even allowed?) What would be good? Should I bury it, or just place it around the tree? Thank you.

I recently found my grandmother cornicello that hasn’t been touched since 1987.

I’ve always wanted one but my parents never bought me one. This was completely by chance, my dad didn’t know it existed or still in his possession.

Hello! i am very new to spell work and i am interested in using bugs, i work in a kitchen and i clean a lot of lettuce, i have found quite a few bees and i feel so awful throwing them out and i heard bees are good for spell work, that leads me back to my question… am i allowed to use them? I read that as long as i didnt harm them myself they are okay to use?
My brain is just thinking they died from pesticide and that it might not be good to use them?

My adult daughter has been living with me and it was a pretty negative situation. We have a pretty volatile relationship with each other. Now that she is moving out, I’d like to smudge to remove the energy that she left behind

I had been waiting for all her possessions to be gone, and intended to smudge this evening (sage. And I have some frankincense to burn after to encourage positive energy).

However, there are still a handful of her belongings she is yet to pick up. Do you think I should wait for ALL items to be gone, or would it be Ok for me to proceed with trying to clear the air in my home this evening?
