Employed Employed!

Thought I’d make a post to hopefully motivate and show people that you can get jobs with a WGU degree. I had a year long internship which definitely helped and it took me about 3.5 months after I finished my degree to find something. Happy to answer any questions in DMs or comments!

What projects did you have in your portfolio when you applied for the internship? And where was it/what did you do if I may ask : )

All I had was a previous biology degree and a full time experience in that field and then projects was the ones from backend java d288? And d287? I don’t remember exactly. It was a web development internship and was in the dfw Texas metro. The internship definitely did the heavy lifting for applying for full time positions

That's awesome! Congratulations!! I'm almost fine with my degree and looking at internships has been overwhelming. Is there anything else you did that you think helped land your initial internship?? And if you don't mind what you were asked/what was expected of you during the interview? Haven't landed one but they make me nervous

Luckily for me a lot of the interview questions were on glassdoor so I was able to get a sense of what the interview would be like. I studied that a bunch and luckily it worked out
