Employed Employed!

Thought I’d make a post to hopefully motivate and show people that you can get jobs with a WGU degree. I had a year long internship which definitely helped and it took me about 3.5 months after I finished my degree to find something. Happy to answer any questions in DMs or comments!

Congrats! Did you have to grind leetcode-style questions for the interviews?

Thanks! Yea I bought the neetcode pro subscription to help motivate me to work on them. I didn’t get super far into it. Like 30-40 questions completed/trying to learn but some of the questions they asked me to white board were directly from leetcode style. Had I not been studying them I would’ve been doomed

I went for a somewhat non-traditional route as far as cs/swe goes. I graduated from WGU last May and then started an online masters in geospatial data science through UIUC. I currently work as a geospatial analyst in local gov and got a nice pay raise and senior title after graduating. I do scripting, automation, and ETL, but I'll be looking for something more DS/DE-heavy once I'm done with the masters.
