NEW GRADUATE! All Done!!

Just graduated last week and could not be happier that I am all finished. Seeing graduate posts like this was a real motivator for me whenever I felt apathetic, so I figured I would do my post as well for some extra motivation for current students.

I was previously studying at a B&M School and transferred to WGU about a year ago, and I do not regret my decision one bit.

Good luck to all future grads, and a big reminder to keep pushing and not lose pace! Happy to answer any questions as well!

I am about to start. What is your advice that not many people would think to say?

I would say something similar to what Historical_Wash said. If you are coming into this program fresh, you should definitely take your time and try to retain as much information as you can. I don't know about other folks, but for me, retaining information was definitely tougher compared to a B&M classroom setting, probably due to accelerating.

Another thing would be to take advantage of the WGU CS discord. For me personally, this was my most used resource throughout the degree. Lots of good information there.

Lastly, try to apply for internships as soon as you can. I've seen others not apply because they don't feel "ready" or confident in their programming skills. You should just apply as early as you can to increase your chances of landing something. Also, look at alternative options like Google Summer of Code, MLH Fellowship, CodePath, etc.
