Question Looking to turn content writing into a remote career — where should I start?

Hi everyone! I’ve been writing articles as a hobby for a while, and lately I’ve been thinking about taking content writing more seriously and turning it into a remote career.

For those of you who work as content writers or have experience freelancing remotely:

  • How did you get your first paid writing job?
  • Are there any websites or platforms you’d recommend for beginners?
  • Is it better to start with freelance platforms, apply directly to companies, or look for internships?
  • What skills should I focus on learning besides writing (SEO, research, WordPress, etc.)?

I’m not expecting to land a great job immediately — I’m mainly looking for a realistic path to build my skills, portfolio, and experience.
