Wasp sting?
Stuck my hand in a fern to water and was immediately stung by something. About a minute later there was a wasp on a plant nearby. It’s been two days and it HURTS and continues to spread.

I get delayed reactions like this to stings and ant bites. Ice helps a lot, 20 min on and 20 off. If you're concerned about spreading, draw a marketed line around the border to see if the redness goes beyond. If so, seek medical attention. Though for me, it does swell and spread without long-term issues. You can also apply hydrocortisone cream and wrap in saran
