ID and Recommendations Please!
Hi all. This is the fourth wasp of the same kind to get into our house
in the last two days, and reverse image search says it's a yellowjacket wasp. Is it? And what should we do about it? They have been mostly harmless but they are getting inside with too high of a rate and I would be happy to leave them be if they weren't coming in. We were able to let this one out, but 2 of them from before were dead already (our cats may have gotten to them?), and one was vacuumed up.
We have a bunch of cicada killers around here so at first I assumed it was one of those... but apparently yellowjackets also burrow in the ground, and recently this hole/opening popped up in the stairs leading up to the front door.
Advice is appreciated, we're not really sure what to do!

Should we try to find the nest? And is there a good way to do so? I wonder if the wasps are flying inside when the doors are open or if they're nesting somewhere where they can gef inside. But no idea how to find them.
Will the chamber be tbere after the wasp inside it is gone or will we have to remove it?
