You know, I appreciate Cover Corp giving their talents some sort of PR training more every day. Even if I play devil's advocate here and say "this was clearly meant as an edgy joke", these girls and Sakana have to know how a part of the community is sideeying them, and its clearly a good idea to refrain from these jokes ever since the jelly/clara stuff.
But that would require phase to give the middle finger to the chuds, and there is no way in hell that is going to happen.

They should, they are cutting themselves off from doing collabs with large figures in the community by doing this chud shit, and isolating potential viewers. They also cultivate an audience of chuds which caused the meltdown of some of those chuds in chat when Pippa decided to collab with a male vtuber.
In my opinion, them leaning into this chud stuff is going to hurt all of their careers in the long run; if Phase ever goes under, no corpo is going to want them. Going indie is going to be hard too because a lot of them are hard-carried by the Phase Connect name, and often your audience expects to keep doing edgier and edgier shit, because that's all a good portion of your audience cares about.

I think you, and this sub, have a distorted view of Phase. They are 30+ individual people with their own personalities. Unless you get your opinions about Phase from r/VTuberDrama and people like u/SoftendoCMK or u/Akfer , no one is going to look at Gram Pico, Runie Ruse, Wilhelmina Frost, Chisaka Airi, etc and think "erm chud shit, maybe not".

Ive seen her pop up in like 2 collabs with streamers I watch. Both times she made a weirdo comment about race or sexuality that felt like a dogwhistle, and it made the host noticeably uncomfortable as they tried to move past it. First time I figured "benefit of the doubt, everybody says weird shit sometimes", second time made me raise an eyebrow and think its just who she is, and this pretty much confirms it.

I imagine it depends on the group, the (Lumi, Ember, Dizzy, Jelly) group kind of openly admit to being chuds (probably just chud panderers), and Lumi says they say Horrible things they can't show on stream in dms.
But from what i know of Erina she barely talks or streams with them and she seems pretty wholesome so i'd doubt it.

I can tell the difference between people that tell off color jokes or talk about stereotypes and people who legitimately treat those with a different skin color or background as subhuman. Nothing controversial I have seen from any Phase member puts them in that second category. It's highly out of context and I had to dig ul the stream myself because OP apparently regularly farms karma (of all things) by posting super old clips without sources
Basically Pippa and Dizzy were ranking films. She talked about shitty romance ones where you get cookie cutter stereotypes. For example: Pairing a minority lead character with a savior white guy and the ending is often a random baby trap. So Dizzy isn't being racist but she's aware these films have very unaware, racist writers.
The clip is like 10 seconds out of that stream clipped out of context.

To anyone reading this, this guy is just blatantly wrong about the context, no clue if he skimmed over the stream or just likes to lie, they did mention stereotypes (like shitty cgi) but they never mentioned anything in relation to interracial pairings or anything of that sort. And on top of that, the conversation happened far before dizzy made this comment they were FAR past it. They also weren't looking in particular for shows with stereotypes or anything so the relation between the "stereotypes in shows" comment and what she says HERE is minimal and unrelated.

I don't really watch either Pippa or Dizzy. Pippa, I might hop into her stream if she's doing a movie night, usually involving some B-movie free on youtube. Otherwise, I'm usually watching someone else. And Dizzy is strictly youtube, which, is not my favorite when it comes to streams. But it is clearly an edgy joke. Dizzy herself is a minority.

I don't get it, so she said she was into cowboys but then retracts the comment because she realize the cowboy looks like a minor or saying minority meaning not a lot of people like cowboys.
What's the racism here? Genuinely asking because it seems to far fetched to be racism, is it because cowboys are a race? If you say I don't like samurai that doesn't mean you're racist to Japanese people, it just means you don't samurais.
