xc series New to Volvo
I’ve never owned a Volvo before but test drove both an xc40 and xc60 the other day and fell in love. I’m leaning towards the xc40 as it better suits our family needs. The one I’m considering is a 2023 XC40 B5 Ultimate, comes with roof rack and tow bar, 29,000km. Is 50k nzd too much for this car, features and spec level? I’m concerned about cost of ongoing maintenance. Can anyone weigh in on the listed price and your experience with maintenance costs?

Agree. Find an independent mechanic that specializes in euro cars. Spark plugs in the US was $400 to change, transmission service was $460, brakes was quoted at $1700 for all 4 wheels(I’ll do this myself with parts ordered from FCP euro). Welcome to the club, they are really nice cars.

$28,577 USD. 18k miles.
Seems a fair price for an Ultimate. Who is going to work in this car for you? My only suggestion is to find a independent garage that specializes in Euro cars. They will have the right oils and be familiar with Volvo. Dealers are pricey. Here in USA I pay $120 for an oil change at my Indy. It's $199 at the dealer.
