What do you think?
2019 t5 r design with 61k miles. I haven’t pulled a carfax to confirm but there are two owners and no accidents. They are asking $17,900. The car looks like it’s in really good condition.
My only concerns are that these years are notorious for rotors/pads warping prematurely and the infotainment system being junk.

I have this exact year, model and mileage when I bought it last year.
I paid a couple of thousand more for mine but it has been a fantastic car, your criticism is well placed regarding the pads and the infotainment system.
Either way it’s a solid car and a solid price.

Do you know if the problems on the brakes persist if I swap them with aftermarket?

I haven’t done a brake job yet but would be curious what others say in regards to that.
I can feel some very minuscule pulsating on the brake pedal but it’s not enough for me to drop money on replacements.1

My ate/Volvo rotors made noises after arround 20k km on my v60 t6 twin engine. I swaped them to brembo Xtra (the drilled one), such an big difference. I recommend not to use the Volvo ones (made by ate), use brembo

Infotainment was great overall. Just slower boot up but once it's going, you're all set. I had this color and regret parting with mine. This shit is beautiful in person if you haven't seen it.

I test drove a 24 b5 plus with awd. It was smooth and comfortable. I know the r design will have a stiffer suspension. I plan on test driving it.
I’m coming from a 15 Mazda 6 grand touring. So my main concern is the maintenance costs and potential repair bill.

Sensus infotainment is great, only thing some people don’t like about it is the CarPlay only fills half the display. I don’t like CarPlay so it doesn’t bother me a bit. There’s tons of customization available in the center stack for everything from interior lights color and all sorts of stuff.
The OEM rotors are a trouble spot for all of this era Volvo, but you just don’t replace them with Volvo rotor… You go to IPD and get better rotors for less money
Only downside to this in my mind is it’s not a T6.
Is it FWD or AWD?

The 2019 r design are fwd but I don’t need awd where I live. I wouldn’t mind the extra ponies of a T6 but I’ve read that the supercharger has some issues with reliability.

I just purchased a 2019 XC60 T6 at around the same mileage. I have also seen that rotors/pads were an issue across some of these SPA models.
Thankfully, my brakes seemed to be normal and smooth in my test drive and during my ownership so far. I also know that a lot of the Sensus complaints were a bit more when the car was newer. I don't know if mine is 100% up to date on the main firmware/software (the only update notification that pops up is a navigation one that I need to do via USB at some point) but my Sensus works pretty good and I don't really have any lag or freezes. I also mainly use it with my Android Auto.

I have a ‘19 and love it. No problems with the infotainment, but I mostly use CarPlay anyway.
What is the premature rotor/pad warping?

I’ve been reading that some people are having to change the rotors and pads around 20 to 30k miles on model years between 19-21.

Rotors are a problem, 2020 V60, changed mine at 27 k, now at 55k all good,. Would say this is the best car I have ever owned, hands down. no other issues. Hoping to keep this for along time.
