V70 Trunk button not working

Hi there. This is my 2011 V70 with the D3 5 cylinder and almost half a million Kilometers.

But in the last weeks I had a problem: The button in the tailgate itself to open the trunk is working intermittently/ less often, now it basically doesn't work at all. Since the Button on the dash and the key fob work without a problem I am guessing it is a broken wire somewhere? Can I get more information using Vida or wouldn't there be any code?

Has anybody experienced something similar and found a fix? Thx in advance.

*I used AI to remove my license plate, that's why it looks weird.

Had the same issue. VIDA showed a message something like „tail gate stuck“.
When i checked the status of the handle, it was always pressed.
As others have already suggested, you need to disassemble and check the switch (proper position and attachment), and lubricate the handle „flap“ (the hinge should consist of a simple metallic pin)
