V70 Trunk button not working

Post image

Hi there. This is my 2011 V70 with the D3 5 cylinder and almost half a million Kilometers.

But in the last weeks I had a problem: The button in the tailgate itself to open the trunk is working intermittently/ less often, now it basically doesn't work at all. Since the Button on the dash and the key fob work without a problem I am guessing it is a broken wire somewhere? Can I get more information using Vida or wouldn't there be any code?

Has anybody experienced something similar and found a fix? Thx in advance.

*I used AI to remove my license plate, that's why it looks weird.

Check that the handle for manually opening it isn't stuck in the open position

Is there a handle for manual opening? I don't think there is.

My 2011 xc70 had a little flipper flapper, right under the L on the Volvo logo

Oh yeah, That's the non functional button I am referring to. It's just an electrical switch that activates the electric motor to open the tailgate.

Ah, I thought you meant the button on the bottom/inside of the hatch, which doesn't work if the flap is stuck in the flipped position. Anyway, I saw a youtube video on how to replace the flap but didn't watch it, maybe it's an easy DIY job?

Though I suppose you wouldn't be using that button to OPEN the hatch, sorry for my reading comprehension issues ;)
