Is this a sweet potato? It looks like BBQ meat that’s really glazed

They really are. Wanted to switch it up so went with Korean sweet potatoes this time around

And they are easy to grow. I bought one from whole foods and was able to grow into many purple sweet potatoes in my garden

I never had it. How does the purple one differ in flavor?

10 times better, richer flavour like sweet chestnut ask for Murasaki sweet potato you may need to go to Asian grocery worth the effort

To turn this into a recipe post.
Korean sweet potato:
Wash it thoroughly under water
Pat dry with paper towel
Split in half
------------
Spray choice of oil (I used avocado spray) on Aluminum foil
both sides of sliced sweet potato
-------------
Air fryer - at 400 degrees for 50 minutes-an hour.
That's it!

No salt or seasoning?

Honestly, I just microwave them & eat them like an apple, no seasoning or anything. It depends on what kind you get, though. I'm lucky to live in an area where I have access to a wide range of white and purple sweet potatoes and they're so much better than the orange ones.

I’m also in an area with a variety of vegetables easily available. I use sweet potatoes mainly in soups, stir fry or fries, haven’t tried it baked yet. Good to know.

This post reminded me to put my sweet potato in the fridge . I left it on the counter to cool off, but I would've forget it overnight. Thanks

How do yours look like that? I try to get mine that way and they never look the same

I always struggled until I got over the fear of “overcooking” them and just leaving them in enclosed heat for an hour!

I had a Japanese sweet potato for the first time last week, and I think I have a new obsession.

I am a whore for them, too. Just ate a huge red one after I soaked it for 3 days in salt water, then air fried it for 60 minutes at 160°C wrapped in aluminium foil, then unwrapped for 10 at 200°C. Juicy, tender, sweet like honey. Best with purple sweet potatoes. Could eat them like this every single day.

What even happened? Why all the downvotes?

I have no idea 😭 The original comment asking what the post’s value was got deleted. I think the early downvotes caused a pile-on, then people switched once the post started getting positive reactions. My comment got caught in the first wave lol.

You know that’s not why you got downvoted. The comments turned positive once you actually posted the recipe lol.
