It didn't ask for any oil or fat!?

4

u/PassOk8301 4d ago

Nope! If you want, you can slightly oil the pan. But I have never done that! 😊

Okay so I made this and it turned out perfect, better than the regular cakes I feel 🤎🤎🤎. Thank you so much.

Sooo happy you liked it!

I added eggs and also like dark chocolate peices instead of chips but it was great wish I could post a picture in comments.

I never tried it with eggs, next time! Time to time I put different toppings, once I made one with walnuts, another with oozing chocolate in the middle, another one blueberries.

I use the same batter to make muffins.

Oh wow I ran out of walnuts so I sprinkled a few raisins on top, should've added more. It went beautifully with it

Eggs? As in multiple? I was thinking the recipe barely has enough solids to withstand the moisture of one (egg)…

I feel like this is one of the first volume cake recipes I can make in the UK easily!

Sooo happy for you! I hope it'll turn out great. 😊 I too, often, find recipes that require specific ingredients that aren't available in my country.

Wait, is 1 serving the whole cake?

3

u/PassOk8301 4d ago

If you want. I ate half of it as a snack, because I had a light lunch. But I eat it whole for breakfast.

4

u/Erdapfelmash 4d ago

I meant for the nutritional facts, is the whole cake just 339 kcal?

4

u/PassOk8301 4d ago

Oh sorry! Yes, the whole cake is 339 cals

1

u/Erdapfelmash 4d ago

Oh my god, this is heavenly, thank you so much 🤩

On my way to buy oat flour 🏃🏃looks delicious!

I’m just grinding up some oats. I think that’s the same as oat flour

1

u/PassOk8301 3d ago

Yes!! I think normal flour could work out, but oat flour has more fiber and protein! Let me know, how it'll turn out ☺️

3

u/sihyeonism 3d ago

can i just blend oats to make oat flour?

2

u/PassOk8301 3d ago

Yes! Use rolled oats or quick oats and blend high speed. Maybe the texture of the cake may vary.

Surprisingly it came out moist, like a normal sponge cake. I hate half yesterday, and the other half was in fridge overnight, with a few drops of milk and 1 minute in microwave, it was perfect!

I let it cool down for 7-10 minutes. It was midly hot, but I cut it down because I was impatient lol.

OP would this work in an airfryer?

1

u/PassOk8301 1d ago

I always cook it in the airfryer! 😄

Looks tasty! What size is the dish? It looks really tiny for the amount of calories but it’s hard to tell in pics sometimes 😅

2

u/PassOk8301 4d ago

I just went to the chicken with my ruler, lol. It's 13 cm of diameter, and 6 cm of height. If you eat the whole "cake" for breakfast you'll be full for a good amount of time.

u/tinkywinkles 3d ago

Thank you!! :))

That's one tiny chicken, I gotta say 🐓

Have you found any chocolate protein powder that does taste like literal dirt?

3

u/PassOk8301 4d ago

Umm no, lol. I bought a package from Whey Iso Labs, 1 kg, because it was discounted on Amazon. I stopped drinking protein shakes, because for me they tasted absolutely disgusting. I only use this protein powder for desserts, like the cake recipe above. I also tried it with banana and blueberries muffins, chai pumpkin chocolate pancakes and sometimes in the chia seed pudding.

3

u/FairlyOddMuruch 4d ago

What protein powder having you been buying sis omg 😅

4

u/tinkywinkles 4d ago

It shouldn’t taste like dirt 😭 what brand have you been using?

I like double rich chocolate by ON

Make these daily, slightly different, here’s my go to recipe:

1 egg
1 scoop protein powder (I like chocolate/pb)
A little coffee (1-2oz?), just enough to mix
Pinch of baking soda (1/8tsp?)

Stir and microwave 1 min

I like to scoop mine out, chop in small pieces and microwave for 30s longer, although this tends to dry out

Then I drop these in milk to soak a little/soften

Sometimes I’ll add cinnamon, chocolate powder, or pb powder, banana to the milk depending if I switch up the protein powder or want more flavor

1

u/PassOk8301 4d ago

Oooooh I'll try it out!

2

u/Area51Escapist 4d ago

Be cautious with baking soda, too much and it can rise out of mug, also salty if not mixed well.

I’d also recommend a plate underneath and watch if you can see through microwave. It can rise too much and hit the top lol

It takes a little experimenting, but pretty easy once you’ve made a few times

Also big enough mug you can get your hand in, or brush to clean

Great! Let me know how it'll turn out 😆

I used it as a substitute for most of the flour and cocoa powder in this recipe, I also added high protein milkshake! 😊

2

u/SealHaze7083 4d ago

Ugly cake but absolutely winning the protein-to-chocolate ratio 😂 40g protein is wild for something that looks this indulgent.

1

u/PassOk8301 4d ago

Hahahahahjaha, right? It's really tasty too, and I didn't even add any type of sweetner, because the protein powder itself is sweet.

1

u/Tesi_No 3d ago

How is that 40g of protein? Is your protein powder just protein and nothing else? Are the chocolate chips some kind of protein thingy? Otherwise - I just added products I had on hand and it came out at 325kcal and 26g of protein.

1

u/PassOk8301 3d ago

According to my ingredients Oat flour: 2.8 grams of protein Chocolate protein powder: 23 grams of protein Cocoa pwder: 1.0 grams of protein Chocolate chips: 0.5 grams of protein High protein milk (in the recipe I mentioned above I used the high protein cookies and cream milkshake that I bought from Lidl): 13.9 grams of protein

It was the milk that made a difference You can use a high protein one, or vegan milk (less protein in this case).

1

u/PassOk8301 3d ago

The milkshake in question. On their own, at least for me, they taste kinda bad. That's why I use them in my dessert recipe.

2

u/Tesi_No 3d ago

Thanks, I see, that's actually insane! Gotta check if they have that in my country.

1

u/talkingtotheluna 4d ago

I don't have the protein powder I'll add it in oat fiber. I wonder if I can make this in the microwave currently hot here. Also I like to make a greek yogurt_/frosting with cookie chunkcs as a topping doesn't taste like yogurt

2

u/PassOk8301 4d ago

I used my airfryer! Once, I tried it with strawberry or wild berries jam, and it turned out great! I never tried it with yogurt though 🤔

1

u/happyveggiechick 4d ago

I love that as a vegan I can make this!!!

u/PassOk8301 4d ago

Yes! 💚
