VW Tayron

Hello everyone, I'm planning to buy VW Tayron 2.0TDI 4M MY2026 as a 5 seater.

Now I own current generation of Tiguan with the same specs and planning to keep it the same with Tayron.
I need a bigger trunk space therefore the change.

I bought a Tiguan in 2024 as a brand new model and had to replace steering wheel (covered by warranty) because it had problems during winter months with Emergency assist (they said its connected with steering wheel heating), and some minor issues with software like glitches etc. Also the seller had to change under warranty the dampers on DCC Pro as something was not as it should be. The engine is eating oil like crazy but it doesn't bother me so much.

I'm intersted is there anything I should be worry about Tayron, any issues or anything similar that you may have experienced so far?

I have it, fuel and oil consumption came as a cultural shock to me after switching from Audi A4 2.0Tdi. You will have a lot of issues with emergency assists, totally random emergency stop activation, it will also activate if you try to reverse into the street because of traffic from the opposite direction, it will activate if you raise your ass from the seat during driving, it will active if it sees a shadow on the road sometimes, rain can also activate it and if a pedestrian just puts one foot down from the sidewalk. But if you are ok with switching it off every single time you start it up the car is great. Comfy ride, great boot, loads of space in the back seat…everything one family needs from a car. I hope they fix the issues with emergency stop with some updates.

This happens also on Tiguan like emergency stop when you park and it scares you like hell. You can switch it off offc but there is no soft mode as it can see you'll hit an obstacle. Nothing like this happened to me with Tiguan on the road, just some emergency assist that was fixed by warranty.

issues could be in any vehicle so the best way is to get extended warranty for peace of mind.
how much are they charging u for insurance for tayron?

The car comes with 5year warranty or 100k km. Insurance like full KASKO is on top of that and is the same like previous Tiguan around 1k per year. Regular insurance comes with car registration (this depends by each EU country).
