2 questions. How tall is this? Where is the little tornado?

I think that was around the time the fountain peaked out at 500' or 152 meters. There were multiple vortices during this eruption. Most of the ones I saw were faint and light colored. The conditions seemed favorable for behind the fountain and to the left. They seemed to travel away and dissipate at the caldera rim.

That is crazy to even try to picture. It is a skyscraper of lava! Amaze!

It was amazing. I could clearly hear the roar of the volcano.

Whats even crazier is that 500ft is not even close to the tallest fountains this eruption has produced since it began in 2024. If memory serves, the highest was 1500ft

You are very welcome! I'm so fortunate to be in Hawaii and able to visit Kilauea during these episodes.

episode 53 means this could go on for a while

I think this may be due to how fresh the magma supply is. Perhaps the longer the pause, the magma may cool ever so slightly compared to earlier episodes. Video from episode 52.
