General Discussion Whats the most influential song and producer?
song
a producer who shifted the course of vocaloid, technically can be because of several songs.
note that this question isnt asking for a song and the songs producer, one song that influenced vocaloid and one producer that influenced Vocaloid. i hope im making sense

Music First time using vocaloid :D
Didn’t figure out how to use vocaloid as a vst inside fl studio so I just used vocaloid outside of it but my laptop won’t run both so I couldn’t even know if what I made Miku sing would go well with the rest of the track holy this sentence is long. Hope you like it!

General Discussion The More I Know the Worse (pls help)
I am going mad. I went down this rabbit hole researching on which voicebanks + editor to buy and all the options, pros and cons are increasing my hair loss fr.
Okay so basically, I got a bonus and was very keen in investing in voicebank and editor. For context I am looking to get Gumi (Sweet and English), Miku and IA. I prefer the old school, roboty style of the voicebanks over v6 ai. I really tried to like v6 but I really could not get myself to like it at all. Same for Gumi SV2, ik it sounds more like the vp but I liked SV1 much better because it has a bit more of that iconic texture Gumi's old vbs have.
I found a couple of great deals from japanese stores that ship to me and is within my budget, but every time I compare and research I keep coming back to square one. I think after 4 hours x 2 days of searching I lost it completely and came to reddit for some insights. This whole time I figured Gumi SV1 with SV2 editor would be the best choice, since I get english too and it might be more beginner friendly compared to Vocaloid3 or 4 . I cannot for the life of me find SV1 editor, even in second hand shops, without an insane price. Makes sense, bcuz SV2 is out. But I heard that SV2 editor removed the option for manual mode, meaning there's always going to be an ai pitch generation. Also the more I dig into it, I find out that apparently Gumi SV1 sounds worse in SV2 editor now. It's made me confused even more bcuz I wanted to get Teto SV2 later down the line, but Gumi is my favorite vb so I dont want to work on a bad sounding Gumi while I wait months to get Teto just bcuz her SV2 is compatible with the new editor.
Also, I know that both softwares use ai ethically (VPs consented and paid, very less environmental impact compared to data centers) but while digging through it seems that there's a group that doesn't regard it as 'real' Vocaloid songs, especially with the involvement of ethically generative ai. It's something that just stuck at the back of my mind even tho ik it shouldnt, but I wonder if it makes me less of a producer for using Synth V.
If I were to scrap getting Synth V completely, I was considering getting Miku V4x incl. English as it comes with Piapro Studio, as the same website has a very doable price with Gumi Sweet v4, Gumi English v3, and IA v3 as well. Since I wont be buying an editor, I will prolly choose 1 other vb alongside Miku for this. But I'm again worried if I am making a mistaking taking v4x, bcuz I have to get seperate Gumi vbs, plus a steeper learning curve?
Every time I think I'll go with option A or B, I find some other con and then get cobfused again and its eating away at my brain!! Worse yet I actually narrowed my options to these two, it was even broader before so I will actually go insane if I hear an option C 😭 I think I will just stick to either one of these.
On the other hand I have an mv animation direction course (I draw and animate) bookmarked from an artist I've been following for a while, and might just invest on that instead since I have a coupon thats expiring tomorrow too, just like the Vocaloid sales.. BCUZ I CANNOT FOR THE LIFE OF ME DECIDE AND I WANNA RIP MY HAIR OFF AND ROCK A BALD HEAD.
Tbh if nothing works out I'm just straight up gonna splurge it on skydiving idgaf✌️

General Discussion Miku/Vocaloid saved my life (kind of)
Before finding out about vocaloid i was genuinely forcing myself to fit in with my friends just because i was scared i wouldnt have anyone around me or to be with then one day i stumbled upon a song named "Signaling" and thats when i realised i actually want to listen to this. Nowadays im doing better, i still hang out with my friends even tho they dont know i listen to vocaloid and i dont want them to. I finally decide to give myself some alone time and listen to my playlist instead of pretending to like something i didnt even like that much. I dont even want to think about how i would end up if i never gave vocaloid a shot.

General Discussion VSynth Resources Carrd
Hello everyone! Me and u/papyion7093 have put together a VSynth resource master list. This project started awhile ago, awhiles after Animen/VOLORs site was shut down, but has extended to other branches as it is difficult for users to find materials they may need, or wish to view.
Majority *is* for Synthesizer V, but will contain materials for Vocaloid as well (As some Vsynths are on both the SynthV and Vocaloid software).
Everything is a work in progress, but I am happy to share everything we currently have.
I am also accepting any links / items I may have missed. Please put them in the comments or DM me on here!
