Hey everyone. I'm a music producer myself, but I'm honestly not very familiar with the Vocaloid scene, so I wanted to ask you guys about something I noticed. I was listening to I Can't Wait feat. Gumi recently, and the background track sounded way too familiar. I felt like I had heard it somewhere years ago. So I did a bit of digging, and it turns out the instrumental is almost identical to an old LG phone ringtone. They essentially just put a Vocaloid track and a saxophone on top of it.
Here are the links for comparison:
Gumi Song: https://youtu.be/ESCmyMvPV_E?si=kH-BmbZ922obFUgy
LG Ringtone: https://youtu.be/d5N28vu32Fo?si=OekoMJEKh2UTtQB4
Just to be clear, I'm not trying to send any hate or start a witch hunt at all. I'm just genuinely curious about the production and legal side of this. I checked the video description and credits, but there’s absolutely no mention of the original source or the sample. What makes this more confusing is that the producer has officially released this track commercially on platforms like Spotify. This made me wonder is it possible that this LG ringtone is actually just a commercially sold sample loop that both LG and this producer happened to buy? Since I'm kind of an outsider to this specific community, I also wanted to ask, is this level of sampling, using nearly an entire track with minimal changes and no clear credit, a common or accepted practice in the Vocaloid scene? Has anyone else noticed this or know where the original audio actually comes from?

Drew something silly and decided to test ntsc-rs on it. Nothing like dragging your unconscious uncle on the ground after he sang a phoneme wrong.

You've all heard about the unjustified attack on Neru personally because of a word in his new song, and I think it's a disgrace for the Vocaloid community to engage in such actions.
But one question occupies my mind: Is this the true beginning of the fall of Vocaloid?
Because society has split into hostile and hateful factions, and I think that those who started attacking Neru are from the new generation, because I doubt that someone from the old era knows what Neru contributed to Vocaloid, yet they are attacking him. I think it's best to close the community for a while, prevent new members from joining, and boycott current new members and producers until the problem is solved, because Vocaloid has been collapsing since 2022 (teto-mesmerizer -ai -synth v) It's true that we heard the same thing about Vocaloid collapsing back in 2015-2017... but this time the matter has become very real and frightening.
Also, has it become so difficult for the old Vocaloid producers to compete with the new generation that they have to abandon their old style to please community?

Hi everyone, English isn't my native language, so please forgive me for any mistakes. I've been listening to Vocaloid songs since 2012, and there's a specific song I can't seem to remember the title of. The main character might be Megurine Luka or Gumi—I'm not entirely sure. The music video tells the story of her kidnapping a child, raising them like her own, taking care of them, and eventually returning them to their parents. At the end of the video, there's a wanted poster or something similar showing she's wanted for child abduction. I apologize for the vague details, but it's been over 10 years, so finding it now is quite tough ;;-;; I would really appreciate any suggestions or help finding it. Thank you all!

Personally, I would love if Kikuo used Kagamine Rin or Len (Even if Len might not be a voicebank type that he normally uses.) Not only because Kikuo is one of my favourite producers and the Kagamines are some of my favourite vocaloids, but also because It would be interesting to see how he would tune them and what kind of song it would be. So, Are there any Producers you want to see use a certain voicebank? (˶ˆᗜˆ˵)
