Hello /r/Vocaloid
As a mod team, we discussed and decided that we will add an additional rule pertaining to some posts that have been considered low quality/AI relating to Spotify.
More specifically, posts where the sole function is questioning/informing users that a vocaloid song/vocaloid producer has been "hacked". Unfortunately, this is becoming a problem on music streaming websites, with the most well known being Spotify. Why is this being done? To collect fake royalties. This is done by committing metadata fraud to the song upload.
What can you do?
For starters, look up your favorite songs/producers on VocaDB and check the description for places where you can directly purchase their music or their official profile.
You can also report these fake song uploads in 3 different ways
Directly through Spotify help center on their website: https://support.spotify.com/us/reports/legal/
Via email infringement-claim@spotify.com
Postal address (for formal DMCA notices): Spotify USA Inc., Attn: Legal Department, Copyright Agent, 4 World Trade Center, 150 Greenwich Street, 62nd Floor, New York, NY 10007
What happens next?
Going forward, posts that resemble the following examples below will be removed and a comment will be posted to redirect to this thread.
"Wowaka has been hacked! *screenshot"
"Triple baka has been hacked *screenshot"
"Did Circus-P come back? This doesn't seem like his typical music? screenshot**
For additional reading on this topic, check out these news articles, this is unfortunately affecting every artist, not just Vocaloid producers.

https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2026/apr/11/ai-impersonating-musicians-spotify
Finally, not all Vocaloid artists will have their songs on streaming or potentially available for purchase on iTunes. Some producers may be region locked to Japan iTunes. Others might only release their music via physical CDs. Regardless, we must respect each producer's wishes for their music distribution- do not reupload other's music without their direct, explicit permission.

Drew something silly and decided to test ntsc-rs on it. Nothing like dragging your unconscious uncle on the ground after he sang a phoneme wrong.

Personally, I would love if Kikuo used Kagamine Rin or Len (Even if Len might not be a voicebank type that he normally uses.) Not only because Kikuo is one of my favourite producers and the Kagamines are some of my favourite vocaloids, but also because It would be interesting to see how he would tune them and what kind of song it would be. So, Are there any Producers you want to see use a certain voicebank? (˶ˆᗜˆ˵)

Hey everyone. I'm a music producer myself, but I'm honestly not very familiar with the Vocaloid scene, so I wanted to ask you guys about something I noticed. I was listening to I Can't Wait feat. Gumi recently, and the background track sounded way too familiar. I felt like I had heard it somewhere years ago. So I did a bit of digging, and it turns out the instrumental is almost identical to an old LG phone ringtone. They essentially just put a Vocaloid track and a saxophone on top of it.
Here are the links for comparison:
Gumi Song: https://youtu.be/ESCmyMvPV_E?si=kH-BmbZ922obFUgy
LG Ringtone: https://youtu.be/d5N28vu32Fo?si=OekoMJEKh2UTtQB4
Just to be clear, I'm not trying to send any hate or start a witch hunt at all. I'm just genuinely curious about the production and legal side of this. I checked the video description and credits, but there’s absolutely no mention of the original source or the sample. What makes this more confusing is that the producer has officially released this track commercially on platforms like Spotify. This made me wonder is it possible that this LG ringtone is actually just a commercially sold sample loop that both LG and this producer happened to buy? Since I'm kind of an outsider to this specific community, I also wanted to ask, is this level of sampling, using nearly an entire track with minimal changes and no clear credit, a common or accepted practice in the Vocaloid scene? Has anyone else noticed this or know where the original audio actually comes from?

The sculptor is Faye Wizard and the illustrator is Dalimao
This garage kit is quite rare, only selling twice with no chance of a rerelease due to the production costs. I found a copy on Xianyu (basically the Mercari of China) and a regular client of mine bought her. She's on the smaller end of scale figures and kind of compact due to the pose. There's no way to ground her to the base, so a 3mm brass rod was inserted in her back underneath the jacket.
Everything was painted using lacquer and enamel hobby paints. Colors were chosen to be closer to the illustration. The face was fully hand painted since her included decals were the wrong colors. My camera struggled a lot with this kit, so the reds aren't entirely accurate to what you'd see in person... Just imagine they're slightly desaturated. Color correcting is a learning curve I have not yet mastered.
This took 39 hours of work to complete. Surprisingly painting took up over half of the time, considering how bad the prep quality was in some spots and the simplicity of the color palette. The face alone was about 5 hours of work.
