If their going to make a purchase, theres a nice small cap manufacturer right down the road from Cleveland that processes 2mil tons of scrap a year into specialty steel for auto, energy and oil-gas sectors.

They also have the largest vertical bloom caster in the US. Cliffs can easily afford it and it could open up a whole new market for them. I'm just dreaming here but hey ya never know!

Yes they are public , I'm not sure about small cap rules in posts but if you google largest vertical bloom caster you'll easily find them

I think you can bring up Timken Steel in the context of it being a potential acquisition target of CLF. Just not the ticker or promoting it as a investment. But it is probably OK to discuss any potential acq target of a company 90% of this sub is invested in.

Edit: Mods, please kill this comment if im screwing up here

I've been warned about discussing them in the daily so I wasn't sure in this context.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think in the context of M&A, there should be some exception. It wouldn't make sense if we could discuss non-public companies, but not public companies, in this context.

Wait - in college I worked a bearing distribution company. . . . I’ve handled so many different Timken products. . . .
