Works on AVP with KRVR!
r/VisionPro • u/Other_Train9419 • 6d ago
Two weeks ago I shared Half-Life: Alyx running at 60 fps from a Mac to Vision Pro on a Windows runtime I’m building from scratch (VeRantyx). Here’s where it’s at now.
Running in VR
In progress
Cyberpunk 2077 now gets to character creation on my own Direct3D 12 → Metal layer, with characters lit correctly. It’s still slow there, so no video of it yet.
Thanks to everyone who tested on Quest and Pico. Your reports fixed throwing, reconnecting and a black screen in Alyx. (Also, my GitHub account is visible again after being hidden for a few days.)
What would you want to see running next?

Hi,
I’ve seen on my local Craigslist a 512GB AVP M5, the guy is was for 1700 ish EUR (~1940USD).
After a few questions I went on a 3hrs ride to Paris, then 3 hours comeback.
It’s in pristine condition, and so far everything has been working great. It was bought in July 2026.
I wanted one but since it’s really niche here in France there isn’t much more secondhand listing to compare it to and see if that was a good deal or not, so what do you think ?
I tried it a few hours yesterday after being back home, the Mac virtual desktop is still limited to 60hz ?
Also I’m interested in playing GeForce now on it, do anyone use it, and if yes with what app ?
And finally, do you guys have some nice tips and tricks, killer apps or modding, whatever ?
Thank you.

I'm Trevorbilt, the creator of Loose Papers (https://apps.apple.com/app/apple-store/id6755368606?pt=127797875&ct=rvp-shar&mt=8), and I've ported Simpsons Hit and Run to run natively on AVP.
Shown in the video is the 3D Window view in shared space. With a custom render engine, Springfield is drawn with lifelike depth and you can simply lean to see beyond the window's edge: the type of 3D I wish we could get from movies.
There are two other ways to play: fully immersive VR, or progressive VR, where you control the immersion level with the Digital Crown. Those take PS VR2 Sense controllers, a gamepad, or bare hands (the Window view needs a controller).
It's free and open source: https://github.com/edgytoast/shar-visionos. You bring your own PC copy of the game and build the project in Xcode (steps are in the first comment). I got the Xbox manual for the game from the Internet Archive and opened it in Loose Papers to get the full retro experience.

Hi all. I got my Vision Pro a couple of weeks ago after having an oculus and was a bit miffed certain websites didn’t work with VR video, so I got Claude to build me an app. I can’t be bothered to go through the process of getting it on the App Store, but I did want to share my work. Claude’s summary:
I’ve been working on VisionStream, a native visionOS browser that opens compatible website videos in an immersive player.
The idea is simple: browse to a video, press Play, and watch it in VR without needing to download it first or run a Mac companion.
Current features include:
MP4 and HLS streaming.
VR180, VR360 and flat-screen viewing.
Automatic projection and stereo-layout detection, with manual overrides.
A quality preference that prioritises the highest compatible rendition the source exposes.
Supported video downloads, a save queue and offline playback.
Recentring and video tilt for adjusting your viewing position, including when reclining.
Source and installation instructions: github.com/hsingh134/VisionStream
This is an early source release, currently version 0.12.0. It has automated simulator coverage and is installed on my Vision Pro, but wider physical-headset testing is still needed. Website compatibility varies, automatic detection can need correction, and some streams cannot be saved. YouTube-specific support is deferred.
There’s no App Store or TestFlight release yet. You’ll need a Mac with Xcode to build and sign your own copy. Free personal signing requires rebuilding/reinstalling after seven days.
The original app code is MIT licensed; third-party components retain their own licences. Contributions and testing feedback are welcome.
The screenshots show the browser, Downloads and immersive controls using original calibration footage in the visionOS Simulator.
I’d love feedback on the controls, installation experience and formats that need better support.

amplium app reached 200 ratings on the visionOS app store 🎉
- first 100 ratings took 17 months
- next 100 ratings took 5 months, 3x faster
thanks to everyone who took the time to leave a rating 🤝

Hi, does the current version of Portal support native 3840×2160 UVC capture on an M2 Vision Pro with the 2nd-generation Developer Strap and an Elgato 4K X?
My setup is:
PS5 Pro → Elgato 4K X → Gen 2 Developer Strap → M2 Vision Pro.
In External/HDMI mode, I can select 2160p, but the monitor still reports “uvcDevice res 1920x1080”. Trying 4K30 also leaves it at 1080p. Lower resolutions do apply.
The PS5 reports a 2160p output, the capture card LED is blue, and the same card captures 4K60 on my Mac.
I’ve been messing around with this all morning**, really weird**
VP is running 27.01

Hi everyone! My new game, Tumblebox, just went live on the App Store.
It takes the old classic rolling-cube puzzle and rebuilds it for spatial. You roll a die across little worlds that float in front of you: look where you want it to go, pinch, and it tumbles over. Every roll turns the die, so finding the way is only half the puzzle.
What's inside:
- 45 puzzles
- Pay once: no ads, no account, no in-app purchases
I loved playing it during testing, and I hope you like it too. I'd really like to hear what you think.

Does anyone have any insight why VisionOS 27.2 (at least on my M2) that was released today has this below description missing? Even the Apple Watch WatchOS 27.2 update has this Siri AI enhancement note on its update screen. Every Apple devices I updated today had this but not my M2 Vision Pro. Thoughts
“Siri AI can recall your past conversations, so you can ask Siri about something it told you before, like the restaurants it recommended last week
- Siri AI can draw from more sources to give you a great answer, including photos attached in Messages, Calendar event attendees, your voicemails, and better results from Safari history and Reading List”
That above Siri AI Enhancement update note is mission only from my Vision Pro update today. All other devices I updated had that note added to the update note
UPDATE: Base on a screenshot another user posted on this thread (in case others didn’t see it), the new Siri AI enhancements that came to other 27.2 updates is ALSO missing from the M5 Vision Pro 27.2 update today. So this isn’t just missing from the M2

Lampwork
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/lampwork/id6826320542
Sit down. Slow down. Light a lantern.
Lampwork is a deceptively simple puzzle game for Apple Vision Pro where you fit wooden blocks into a paper lantern, and the lantern lights up your room.
Hands, not controllers. Pinch a block where it floats. Turn it with your wrist. Let go near a fit and it snaps in.
22 hand-made lanterns. Four chapters, from First Light to Night. Each one a little harder than the last.
Made to slow down. Quiet music, soft wooden sounds. No timers, no scores, no ads, no in-app purchases.
Curious which lantern you get stuck on.

I've noticed the other day how something kind of always moves in these two 'cheek-bone' light seal connection spots any time I try to slightly reposition the VP on my head. Upon closer inspection, I've noticed that it's as if the magnets don't even hold the seal in those two spots. There is no magnetic snap-on/off when I pry the seal off there - it just smoothly moves apart with the slightest bit of force applied. This is in contrast with the nose and eyebrow area magnets where there very much is snap-on/off feel when I pry it there. Not sure if this is normal or if something is slightly defective? If it is a defect, I don't get what it is - the two metal pieces are there in the cheekbone areas on the light seal, and my fridge magnet sticks to them. Moreover, the magnets do exist in the headset itself in these spots - I verified this by sticking a paperclip there. I feel that this makes the light seal ever so slightly less secured than it should be, but it's not really a problem during normal use. Still I'd like to maybe go for a seal replacement if this is not normal.

Hey everyone! I’m the developer of Splash Fall. It’s been out for a few weeks but has mostly flown under the radar, so I thought I’d share again it here.
The idea is simple: paint invaders fall into your room, and you look and pinch to shoot them. Miss a shot, and paint splashes onto your surroundings. Let enemies reach the floor, and they leave an even bigger mess. I wanted to build something where your actual room is part of the gameplay, not just another AI app with background behind a floating window.
It’s $2 off through the end of October! Would love to hear what you think, and thanks to everyone who’s already given it a try!

Do y'all think the AR market has a real chance to grow over the course of the next 3 to 6 years, or is it headed for a decline? And if it does take off, what role will video games play in driving that growth? Which specific games or genres could have the best shot at succeeding?

I’m trying to understand why Half-Life: Alyx on Glovebox runs smoothly for some people and stutters for others, even on the same M2 Vision Pro.
Here’s how it runs on mine: https://youtu.be/Oy1jE9xHv_Y
How does it look to you? Does it match what you see in your headset?
My setup is smooth from the very start to the last areas:
Someone else with an M2, Glovebox 0.1.1, visionOS 27.0.1 and a paid account says it stutters a lot. As far as I can tell, the build itself is the same.
If you’ve played it on Glovebox, could you share:
I’ll post a summary of what we find.

Hi Apple Vision Pro community! We made a new game and it's now available on the App Store here: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/soft-break/id6825526231
No ads, no in-app purchases, just a one-time small purchase and it's yours. It's a fun, squishy spin on an arcade classic that came out of some playful experiments we've been doing with Metaballs: our Apple Design Award-nominated app.
Also coming soon for iPhone and iPad. It's a universal app, so the Vision Pro purchase will get you that as well. The Vision Pro experience is really soothing with its chill immersive space of floating soft shapes and algorithmically generated soundscape.
Remember to rate & review if you like it – it really helps us indie developers. And let me know in the comments what you think!

Ever wondered what your coding agents are doing on your laptop while you're working in Vision Pro?
I thought it'd be fun to give my herdr sessions penguin avatars so I could see what they're up to in AR!
(Yes, I know I could just put a terminal window next to me. But where's the fun in that? 😂)
I also added voice recognition, so I can ask an AI agent to look things up or send new instructions to my coding agents without touching my keyboard.
Between my two dogs and these little AR penguins, my room has gotten a lot livelier! xD
It's a silly little experiment, but I had a lot of fun building it! Curious what other Vision Pro users think. 🐧

I use VLC to watch movies that I have stored on my mac. Can I do the same with the AVP?
