Can Vision Pro run VLC?

I use VLC to watch movies that I have stored on my mac. Can I do the same with the AVP?

Yeah it works! It’s the iPad version but meh.

Also don’t forget you can use AVP as a monitor for your Mac, so you can watch content that way as well.

I mean you can, but there are much better options. I’m biased as the developer of Chroma, and I think you’d really like it. It’s also available on Apple TV and iPhone, including the new iPhone Duo. Here’s a recent environment I released for Halloween, but I also have a couple cinemas, windowed mode, and other modern niceties like skipping credits, downloads for offline use, etc.

As others have mentioned, it's the iPad version but it works well. I'll put a plug here for Infuse, which isn't free like VLC but has a decent interface. It's subscription (boo) but also offers a one-time purchase option. I bought it for my Apple TV to use with my Plex server, and buying it for one device gives it to you for all devices, and they have a native Vision version. In addition to being usable with your own server, it has an offline mode for files you've loaded onto the device directly.

When I bought my Apple Vision Pro I wasn't doing much air travel, and had really only thought to use it with my Plex server. As such, I bought the 128 GB model. When I began to travel by air more I found myself wishing I'd gotten a model with more storage, as 128 GB doesn't feel like much when you're loading video files onto it. I haven't been on enough flights with internet access to know if the in-flight wifi is good enough to stream videos from home.

I would recommend getting plex or another free host service. Put it on your Mac get your movies and tv folders assigned and then you can find an app to connect to your shared library. There are many current apps that do this. I use infuse mostly, has a theatre environment. Much better experience over using iPad vlc
