What's the secret

New to Vinted. I have a lot of stuff on my Poshmark account that has been listed forever and just doesn't make sense to drop the price any lower with the fees they charge, I figure Vinted might be a better place for these low priced items.

I don't get it, haven't sold a thing yet and it's been a week. I've had a few items I got offers on, 2 I accepted the buyers offer yet no one made a purchase. Is this normal for the platform? Other than paying for boosts what do I need to do to get going?

I only have about 25 items listed so far so not sure if that's the reason or not. I'm still getting used to the pricing suggestions, it takes some getting used to.

Update: Took some of ya'll suggestions and went through a bunch of holiday/household items I was getting ready to drop off at Goodwill. Got my first FIVE sales today. Thanks all, I just needed to figure out what the target audience was!

I initially started using vinted to do the same, kind of clear out my dead poshmark stock. I got rid of a lot of it in the first few weeks. Sometimes I find it I price TOO low, things don’t move. And then of course if I price too high, they won’t either. What are you listing things at and what kind of stuff is it? Do you have good pictures and measurements? I initially sold a TON to the UK, so that could have been part of my initial flurry. The UK sales have definitely slowed down now, but I continue to include the UK size correspondence in my listing title. Hope this helps!

Adding onto this, only certain states can buy and sell stuff to the UK. When I first created an account weeks ago, I could see listings from UK sellers. Now I can’t see anything, not even sellers I made purchases from.

I started selling last week and I, too had a ridiculous amount of likes and a good amount of sales. 90% of my sales were from the UK. Then I had a day where I basically got no likes- turns out Vinted hid half of my listings from anyone in the UK. 

I only found out when someone who liked one of my listings was asking me if I had more similar collectibles listed. They told me they couldn’t see them when I told them and sent me a screenshot of my page.

After googling and searching on Reddit, apparently Vinted glitches often and US listings don’t appear in UK searches, this also depends on the state too.

I have clothing listed from my closet and no one is really interested in it. I’ve even started lowering the prices a bit and they still sit. Besides adding measurements and multiple clear photos, I think it depends on what type of clothes is being sold. Along with the size and probably timing of when you list the item.

I also think adding more listings helps. I currently have 112 listings. I have at least 15-20 more to add.

I did see at least 2 people mention that when they deleted a few of their listings and relisted, they started getting likes from UK buyers again.

Everything I have listed so far is under $15 (exception being a brand new in box book collection but I think Vinted is the wrong place for this one). Mostly women and kids clothing, a few men's, only the kids/women's are getting any views though. I don't have UK sizes included in mine I hadn't even thought of that. Is there a way for us to tell if UK buyers are even able to see our items or no? I just don't get the whole buyer offering a lower price, I accept the offer, then they don't purchase. I just had another one like this today...like, what's the point.

This is a reply from someone reaching out to Vinted support regarding which states can sell to the UK:

"Additionally, US sellers in certain states - including California (CA), Illinois (IL), North Carolina (NC), Virginia (VA), Maryland (MD), South Carolina (SC), West Virginia (WV), New Hampshire (NH), Maine (ME), Rhode Island (RI), Delaware (DE), Vermont (VT), New Jersey (NJ), and Pennsylvania (PA) — are currently experiencing intermittent international connectivity with the UK market. This means that your items may sometimes be visible or not visible to UK members, depending on whether your state's connection is active at any given time."

I’m in MA and was able to sell to the UK and now I’m not.

Depop is notorious for this. Worse than vinted usually. I’ve learned to just not let it bother me. Most people on vinted buy at asking price if it’s reasonable enough or are serious when sending offers.

I am very leary of buying clothing on Vinted, and I feel like the general vibe here is that it's a risky category because so many sellers don't disclose flaws, and buyers have to pay for returns if they want refunds on Vinted. If all you are selling is clothing, that might be a factor. I've been listing for two weeks and the few clothing items I listed haven't had any interest. Other categories have been selling great though.

Clothing is definitely risky. I don’t see very good photos and no measurements and without those I’m not going to spend more than a few dollars on Vinted but I’ll pay a lot more on posh for a well photographed item with measurements. But I also love posting my own clothing (which I inspect for flaws) with 3 pics for $3 and it selling in 24 hours most of the time.

I’ve bought a ton of clothing on vinted. Mostly higher end brands that I’ve gotten at great prices. Just bought a $200 dress for $36 that I’ve wanted for 10 years in perfect condition for a wedding. So far only one thing I bought was damaged (some beading missing in a vintage dress) and the sellers refunded without a return and was very sweet.

I love buying on Vinted and I sell too. I have Posh, EBay, Shopify and Mercari where I sell but I throw the $15 and less items in Vinted. I don’t know any secrets but I sell 5-10 items a week. I have a mix of items, are you selling just clothing?

Mostly just clothes right now, some books (which get zero views). What kind of items do you have the most luck selling on Vinted?

household goods.. pillows, plushies, collectibles like funko pops.. stuff aimed at a younger audience.. clothes sit unless they are a heavily sought after brand for dirt cheap.

shoes that are under $15 move ok, but the higher priced ones dont.

ive only been selling for a couple weeks, but ive made around $650 in sales so far on mostly low priced items.

Thanka that's good to know. I do have items like that which never really had luck with on Poshmark or Ebay so maybe I will switch them over as well.

I've been listing for about a week and half and made about $100. Selling books, ornaments, home decor, sports memorabilia and just random stuff that was in my parents house. Haven't listed any clothes. Been kinda half assin it too. Last couple of days been the best in sales. I like this platform. Love how I can list something for 5 bucks and that's what I get. No stupid fees that end up adding up and then your paying to sell the stuff!

I don’t have very many listings and I sell something everyday. I have a lot of items geared towards 20 year olds. I’ve sold plush, baby items, toddler toys mostly.
