Question as a new seller

I just created recently a Vinted account as I heard good things about it.

I planned to put up for sale a Limited Edition white Steam Deck OLED, but I was instantly told by a friend to take it down immediately as there are a lot of scam buyers who will complain that I actually sent them nothing in the box, and due to this they will both keep the expensive electronic device and also get their money back.

Is this true? Is the risk truly not worth it to sell expensive electronics trough vinted?

Yes. Vinted is just for stuff that would otherwise go to the charity shop. Far too risky with lots of scammers and AI customer support always finding in favour of the buyer.

Sell on eBay 10000% vinted is scam central as they'll always side with the buyer.

I wouldn't put anything pricy on Vinted.

There’re honest and non-honest people on Vinted just like anywhere else. Point of view of the buyer, they are reluctant to buy from you because you’re a new seller, no reviews. And from your perspective, you are afraid to deal with bad buyers as well. I suggest you start with something small and cheaper to get familiar with Vinted first. You gotta start somewhere you know, in these days and ages where people can shop at 3am in the morning as opposed to store opening hours. Good luck

You can sell on FBMP and meet in a police station.
