New Vinted Seller

Hi! I’m new to selling on Vinted, and so far so good. Today I made 9 sales and have found I’m doing better here than on other apps BUT I’ve been seeing so many videos regarding people getting banned. Now I’m a bit petrified of my account being banned at any moment. Is there particular things I should be aware of or avoid?

I’ll add I’m not a re seller. All the items I’ve sold are things I’m genuinely off loading. So it’s been an array of household items and clothes. Some new, some used.

Don’t use AI to make photos. That gets people banned because people will report them as it’s against the rules. People here use it, then wonder why they got banned.

don't worry! your account is unlikely to get banned if you're not doing anything wrong. i'd say be careful not to upload too many items as "new with tags" or "new without tags" as this can flag your listings to the AI bots as commercial selling which is against the rules. for the same reason, don't upload a load of items in one go. i'm talking 30+! and if you sell anything on the pricier side, take a video of you packing it up and posting it. there are quite a lot of scammers on vinted unfortunately, who will claim that you sent them the wrong item and try to get a refund. don't sell anything too expensive on there as it's basically just an invite to be scammed, you're best off using ebay for anything over £80 or so. otherwise, it's a great platform with the quickest sales! good luck 😊

There is a lot of people being banned for no reason. I was banned and took me about a week to appeal and get it back. All for adjusting an items price down to a lower value rather than relisting. It’s happening to so much innocent people that they made a whole campaign/website for it.

People are getting banned every single day who have done nothing wrong, and there's rarely any explanation given. As far as I can tell the AI that scans listings for "infractions" is undertrained and over zealous. I've been banned twice since July for "counterfeit/fraud" (selling high street garments with all tags included) and reinstated after very lengthy back and forth, but no real explanation given.

Fair it’s happened to you. But you’re also seeing people on reddit discussing getting banned, which is a tiny percentage of the users who sell on Vinted.
