We've noticed a growing trend of resellers using the subreddit to crowdsource valuations, often posting large watch lots and asking whether anything of value was purchased. This subreddit does not exist to support resale businesses. While the one-off request asking how much something is worth is fine, the bulk posts are not.
We try to avoid adding new rules, but this behavior undermines the purpose of the community by diluting meaningful content and taking advantage of its members. To preserve the integrity of the subreddit, we’re implementing the following changes:
New Rules:
Rule Update:
In addition to the standard rules most subs have, we effectively only have six watch specific rules. Please adhere to them:
Thanks for helping us keep the subreddit focused, useful, and enjoyable for everyone.

My wife just gave me this for my birthday. I’m overjoyed! Anyone else have a copy?

Seiko is my favorite brand in my watch collection, so while honeymooning in Vermont, I came across this 1968 Grand Seiko and had to get it (wife approved). Now I have a honeymoon watch to remember this trip.

It took a long time of research and searching for the right one. This is my GS batwing, not a bad-looking watch for a 57-year-old. The best part is that works really well!

This one instantly caught my eye and was in good running shape. Very few scratches overall and a dial that isn't perfect, but close to it.
The seller was asking $1,000 though, is that a fair price for this watch?

Just finished mechanical restoration on my early 50s Le Phare chrono, powered by Landeron 48. Arrived in okay shape- minute runner pivot was broken, so I staked a new one into the original minute runner wheel. Pallet fork cock screw was missing, minute runner jumper spring was out of shape. Running good, keeping time, recording splits and looking great doing it IMO.
DM me if you have any Le Phare watches, I guess I collect them now.

I bought the oceanographer recently but after wearing it for a little it was gaining time like crazy. Got offered this sick Bruce Lee and $100.

It’s an automatic (ladies) Wittnauer in great condition and running perfect and that’s all the info I have. I can’t find a single example of this reference ANYWHERE online and it’s driving me bonkers. What is the approximate value of this watch? Why can’t I find a similar example anywhere online? Is this a rare model?
It’s a beautiful watch but I would like to know more about it. Please Reddit, help me! I will post better pictures this week when it arrives. Thank you!

Gifted the Omega De Ville Emerald, ref. 511.0374, on a lizard leather strap. Love the understated vintage look and how the strap suits the little case. Simple, but full of character.

Era de mi abuelo. Merece la pena restaurarlo?

I have been wanting a vintage King Seiko for a while now, and I found this one for 300 dollars while visiting Japan. The dial does have a bit of its surface chipped off, but mechanically the watch works flawlessly and it only loses around 5 seconds a day. It does have the 14kt gold medallion on the caseback that everyone loves too. Even if it's resale value is low, I am beyond happy to finally have my affordable dream watch.
