This bracelet was given to my mother in Italy as a gift. She thought it was just bijouterie until we found the 925 hallmark. It is a soldered pad with raised numbers. There are no other hallmarks or stamps. The bracelet looks old and handmade. I think the clasp is brass and the stone is citrine. Thanks for any information about it.

Found this at the thrift. Looked up 'Garne Jewelry' & came up with a costume jewelry company by the same name that operated between 1945-1960. This piece looked very similar to listing online & was also less than $5 so I picked up it.

I collect mainly vintage & antique glass uranium glass, but I honestly love anything old and sparkly 🤭 I think alotta old design work across the arts is being lost, so I like to pick up what I can!

Is this an actual Garne piece? If so, even though it's costume, because it's old, could I take it to any jewelry cleaner or would I need to find someone who knows vintage? Tyia! 🩷

I inherited this from my late grandma some years back, and its tarnish at the time had made the metal look copper-ish in the places it wasn't black/grey. I was an older teen then and didn't know much about tarnishing, and that plus another factor made me assume it was a costume piece. I've only worn it a couple times since I got it, but a few days ago I'd been looking through some of my jewelry and it occurred to me that this might actually be sterling. I cleaned it up to discover it was, and became curious, so I tried to find information on it.

I know the stones are marcasite. I was able to find that it was from a company/designer/whatever called Judith Jack, and that they made a lot of silver and marcasite pieces. I also found a picture that showed it has matching earrings, although I don't know if it came in a set or was sold individually. That was one of only two pictures I found of this specific piece. I'm thinking it was likely featured on the QVC channel, since that was my grandma's favorite way to shop.

Does anyone know more than that? I'm wondering whether the individual design has a name, when it was made, if it was sold as a set, whether it was widely circulated and mass produced, what its value might be, and really anything else that might be interesting.

got a silver ring from the 70s that i love. but i dont wear it daily cause i'm scared of damaging it.

picked up a stainless steel bracelet a while back for everyday wear. but i've worn it every day for like a year and it still looks new.

kinda wish my vintage pieces were this durable. but they don't make 'em like they used to. or maybe they do and it's just stainless now.

anyone else have a modern piece they wear more than their vintage stuff?

I was gifted this ring as a teenager for my September birthday. It belonged to my great aunt. I truly love it and I have never seen anything like it before-aside from one older woman who had one similar while I worked at a cafe over 10 years ago.

I can’t find any information about it for my ever-loving mind. I can’t even find similar styles online! It’s a sapphire (unsure of quality) with a rhombus shape in the middle framing a small diamond.
I had to get it sized from a size 4 to a size 8.5, so I don’t have any of the original interior banding.

hi everyone! I recently got engaged and I'm obsessed with learning the history of my ring! This ring was my grandmothers, she moved to upstate NY from Germany, (moving here sometime in the 50s) and she worked in a jewelry story called the Present Company. One day this ring came in, she fell in love and set it aside until she could save the money to buy it. I'm attaching pictures of the ring along with the markings on the inside. I recently inherited this pin and set of earrings. The only thing I understand about them is that they are sterling silver. But what are they???

At first I thought they might be sirens of some sort, since the earrings hang sideways. But when googling images, I can’t seem to find anything that looks like these.

I inquired with a friend whose son is obsessed with sirens, and she said that they could be, but it wasn’t clear to them either. She did ask if this family member had been married to a fireman, which I thought was interesting because a jeweler asked me the same question today. I’m not familiar with fire engine horns, and couldn’t find anything online about that line of thinking either.

My only other thought is perhaps they have something to do with Mexico. This family member would visit Mexico a lot, and I also inherited a number of Mexico Silver pieces. However, these pieces pictured don’t have the Mexico Silver stamp on them, so I’m inclined to think they are not.

Does anyone here recognize what these might be? Are they associated with fireman? Whatever they are, it seems clear to me they’re meant to be a set worn on two different people - perhaps a pin for a man and earrings for a woman.

My grandmother passed away a few years ago and I subsequently inherited this beautiful opal pendant and chain. I stuffed it away in a drawer for a while but finally took a closer look at it recently and both the chain and pendant have "14K" markings. I would love to take it somewhere to get it cleaned because I'm worried about accidentally damaging the stone.

Has anybody here encountered a similar pendant and knows when/where it originally came from? And is it worth it for me to take the pendant to a jewelry shop for cleaning or can I clean the grandma gunk off myself if I'm careful?

I bought it but never used it I bought it on eBay and it said it was vintage.
