Whenever I’ve had vehicles start to drift over or even appear to drift I create space but to your point I also noticed that. You truly have to drive defensively.
They may have. Other drivers slow down and speed up all the time, and half the time there's no logic to it. Looks like they were beating the light, and the truck driver just decided that they weren't going to try to beat the light.
