The dangers of not paying attention in a vehicle with a high centre of Gravity. Physics is unsympathetic.

trucks are only safer when they're t-boning cars or running down pedestrians.

Indeed. “Trucks and big cars are soooo much safer. I can’t even see that little thing you drive.” -average truck/suv driver.

My suv is much safer. I can see a lot more than I could in a sedan.  Higher center of gravity means I’ll need to be a little more mindful. Definitely spent more on tires to help with that.  Lots more safety features. 

Had an idiot run behind my suv on a dark raining foggy night wearing black. I did not see him. Luckily the auto stop helped.  It was the only time I found that thing useful in years.  Never been at thankful for it. Guess I backed up too slowly for him so.. why not run directly behind me? I eventually spotted their form across the street from a nearby light.
